Default Two Questions Before US Marshalls Transport

I have two questions before the US Marshalls Transport:
1. Generally how long after sentencing before an inmate in jail is transported to where ever they are going?
2. What personal property will be allowed to keep, such as a Bible? (I read somewhere that 'essential daily prayer items' can be transported and are given to the inmate at each stopover point.
Thank you in advance for your timely response.

There is no way to predict how long of a delay before transport starts, and how long it will take to arrive there. I waited 2 + months for my first con air flight, and then got sent all over the country for another 4 months before I arrived at my designated prison. Another guy who left with me, going to the same destination prison, arrived 2 weeks after the first flight, so anything is possible.

Once in any bop owned prison, all property must be sent from prison to prison. The sending prison decides what they will ship, and then the receiving prison decides if they will allow it in. Bibles should be OK, but they will not travel with the inmate.

Incarcerated people are designated last, which definitely slows down the process. And then you have to fit into the travel plans. 2-3 months is not unusual.
