Default Study on Illinois Prison Visitation and Transportation

Are you interested in speaking about your experience visiting an inmate in the Illinois Department of Corrections? Have you visited someone in an IDOC facility in the last 6 months and are over 18? A researcher at the University of Chicago is looking at the connection between the distance between state prisons and social networks and its effect on post-release outcomes. Participants will be asked to have a 30 minute conversation about their experience visiting an inmate. Interviews can be conducted in person or over the phone at the participant's preference. All personal information will remain confidential, and all information from the interview (quotes, anecdotes, etc) will be anonymized in the final report. All interested individuals can message me on here if they wish to participate or have further questions.

I do not wish to be interviewed but can state that since most IDOC prisons are downstate the people with the most difficulty are those that live in Chicago. For those of us who already live downstate, its much easier. Best wishes

It's okay if he hasn't been released--that's not what this portion of the study is addressing. Have you visited him in person recently? Most of the interview is about the experience of traveling/visiting at their facility.

Well I do visit all the time (up to 7 times/month). However, even after 5+ years I have no issues with either travelling or the actual visit itself.
