Default What is it like at LARK? Conditions? Food? When can he call?

Hi m name is Mia and my son is being transferred to LARK right now. He wasnt able to call before he left Tulsa County DLM. Im just wanting to know what is going to happen to him while hes there? How soon will he be able to call home? How do they determine between max and medium prison? What are the conditions like? Food? My son just turned 19 and was sentenced 8 years after He and two of his high-school friends mixed drugs and alcohol together One night and thought it would be funny to go shoot at their friends house. Nobody was hurt Thank God! Anyways my son has never been in any trouble before this. Im worried about all the unknowns? I probably wont have a restful night of sleep until he comes back home. Can anyone give me any info about what will happen from this point forward? PLEASE!

Welcome to Prison Talk. Here's a link to the OK DOC's information for families web page.

and the one for Lexington Assessment and Reception Center, LARC.

Also be sure to check PTO's Oklahoma prison forums for answers from folks who are familiar with that system.

He should be there about 2 weeks, give or take, 24 hour lock down, 1 hour to move around, shower etc etc, no canteen, you should get a postcard saying he there, lines for phone are long he may or may not get a chance to call. The phone company is GTL 1 800 483 8314 to set up your prepaid phone so when he does call you can get the call. Just hang tight mom, he'll be fine They will decide where he goes by a point system, so many points for age, crime, etc etc. Feel free to PM if you would want to talk. Much love and Hugs! Jpay is where you put money on his books so when he does move he can get canteen. I doubt he'll go Max, more like med for at least 4 months then min. He should come out level 2 and levels go down every 120 days to lower security !

My godson was just sent to LARC on his way to a delayed sentencing for young adults program. Will he be able to receive mail until they transfer him?
