Default What does "open date for parole release" mean on inmate lookup?

My fiance is going to the merit board sometime in May. If he gets it, he'll be coming home in July. Just for the hell of it, I just checked the inmate lookup. It seems to have changed slightly. Under Earliest Release Type, I don't remember what it said. It might have said Parole Eligibility (or something like that). But now it says, "open date for parole release". Like I said, I'm not positive what it originally said, but it definitely wasn't that. Also, under Parole Hearing Type, it used to say Merit Board (or something about merit). Now it says release conditions. What does all of this mean?

OMG, are you positive about that? That's the best answer I could've gotten, but is it normal for them to do the review, at least, 2 months before they were supposed to? And then, on top of that, not even tell him? I'm not trying to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I really want to be positive about this before I get tooooo excited, even though that's not working too well. lol

He has been approved. There will a date posted eventually for his release. If you look at the parole hearing calendar you'll see his name. It's on the same website

Thank you so much, but I'm not even seeing him anywhere on the calendar. I even went as far back as November and forward to July, and there's nothing. Weird.

First, I think I read that it's only for people serving indeterminate sentences, but now I'm seeing it's for indeterminate AND determinate sentences.

I just spoke to his counselor. He told me that the reason the inmate lookup site changed was probably because the DOC basically picked up that he did what he had to do to get his merit time and that in May it will probably just be for his release conditions, which is what that site says. I think now I can finally be happy.

His paperworkwork will go before the May board for his conditions to be set. The actual release date will most probably be approx 4-6weeks from that date, and shortly he should be, (if he hasn't already), submitting a proposed and alt proposed release address. That 4-6 weeks can be less if the address is approved sooner than later. Good luck, he got his Merit certificate which is an achievement.

We've always known that his merit release date is July 15th. It even says that on the inmate lookup under Earliest Release Date. There's no way it would be any sooner than that, is there? After waiting 3 1/2 years I'm happy with that date, but I'm just making sure.

Another quick question. What are the chances that the P.O. who comes to check out my apartment will want to talk to the landlord? Or is that an individual decision that they make?

You are correct. My apologies. MEOD (merit open date is if he is PAST his merit date. That WILL be his fate unless it falls on Friday, Sat, or Sunday.

Parole does usually contact landlord because you are adding someone to a lease, and dependent on his conditions, they look to make sure the situation is conducive to his te-entry plan.
