Default When does he need to check in w/ Parole? When will they come to the house?

I talked to my fiances parole agent today, he won't be out for another 2 weeks. He gets released on a wed. As I was asking her when does he need to check in and she suggests he checks in after I pick him up. We were planning to get a room for some alone time when i pick him up before all his family visits him. Does anyone know when the agent comes checks the house..would it be immediately the next day after he checks in with his po? I totally forgot to ask her but I didn't wanna get her annoyed. Lol. we were planning to get to get the room in the same county he will be living in. Should we inform her we won't be at his house for the first night hes out?

I would let her know. When my son first paroled, he checked in and his agent was at his residence the next day, so there's really no way to know for sure, but since it's in the same county there shouldn't be an issue.

@2sleepy- thanks!! Yeah we'll let her know cause she sounded pretty cool and helpful when I asked her some questions before. Hopefully it'll be okay because its just one night and within the same county.

You can call tomorrow. They know about 3-6 months in advance for the most part.

My husband's PO came about 2 months before he got out to check out our home. Hubby checked in with him the same day he got out. PO came to do 1st visit with husband at home about 2 weeks after that. Good luck & congrats on the homecoming!

Thanks the thing is the county we thought he was paroling too is not where he's originally supposed to parole. He does have a place to stay with his family in the county he's originally paroling too now but they don't have that address. So I'm guessing his po won't come check out the house until we go in and he checks in with her and gives her the current information.

Are you sure he will be on parole and not on community supervision? Has he signed his parole papers inside yet? My husband will be home in less than 60 days he signed his papers almost a month ago.

There is no way of knowing. All PO's make up their own routine on when they do house checks, drug test and office check in's. They change their routines often.

Hello JTZ's Wifey

This is how I do Parole.....It comes first.

You always need to be ready to get swooped on, tested, or get a visitation. Every move you make has to be a sober minded decision. Some POs won't test you when you come in, cause they want to test you when you are unaware they will test you. They know the game. Some will show up to your pad unannounced.

That said, most Parole Officers on the day you first visit will tell you what day they will come out to the crib. They don't want to go there for nothing, especially the first visit, till they lay down their way of doing things.

Parole comes first....If you guys take that attitude, you'll be just fine.

His parole papers should state if there is a no alcohol restriction. Mine was told by his PO the 1st time we went that it was part of his parole, no alcohol. I am not sure if they test for it but I would imagine so. They do not test everyone in the house. Only the parolee. If he is told no alcohol in the home though, make sure there is none wherever he is paroling to as long as he is on parole.

Nope no beer in the house if they tell him no alcohol. Also, I don't know the specifics on this one, but I believe you can't even go to a resturant where their main source of profit is from alcohol or something like that. I know someone will come along who is more familiar with this one. You can check with his po to find out the specifics on this one.
