Simplest thing to do would be to take clear pictures of the documents (maybe cover up any sensitive information you don't want public like his name and case number) and upload them to the board.

You have to go to the JPay website and register there.

As to whether or not he'll be home in 10 months, is he doing Fire camp? Was some of his time enhancements? That's not really adding up...

I'm not sure. I know the judge dismissed 3 of his charges because DA didn't wanna deal with them

If he took a plea bargain, then it had nothing to do with "not wanting to deal with them."

You had said he got 6 years. We're not understanding the sentencing structure.

nolo contendere means a plea by which a defendant in a criminal prosecution accepts conviction as though a guilty plea had been entered but does not admit guilt.

I think what you should do next week is this.

Go to the courthouse. If you don't have his case number, his name and date of birth should be enough for them to help you out. And have them help you confirm what he was convicted of and sentenced to. For a small fee you should be able to get the Abstract of Judgment and a copy of the sentencing minutes.

My other concern here is you're saying he was going to be tried on 5 counts and took a plea bargain for two. Again, I really think that you should be getting some additional support for yourself, maybe talking to a therapist or going to AlAnon/NarcAnon or something.

He may love you, he may mean well and he might be fine around you if he's getting the help and treatment he needs. But I'm just worried about how this situation is impacting you.

Well my hubby had been in the county for 2 years before he was sentenced so they calculated the days he was in there and gave him credit for those days.

Something isn't right. Either he really doesn't understand what he's facing or he's not being up front with you.

A month in county might get him 60ísh days credit toward time served. Even if he signed a six year plea at 50%, he'd still have 3 years minus county time to serve.

But sentencing is complicated and you'd need a copy of his abstract in order for folks to be more specific.

Bottom line-- he needs to be the one to tell you the truth. We can help with the math all day long, but if your gut is telling you something is up, then it probably is. He's in on a domestic case with you as the victim, correct? Focus on you. Focus on getting yourself into some counseling if needed. Let him do his time, it sounds like he might need it.
