OMG I do this too! When they're on sale I try to keep 4-5 bottles of everything in stock. I can go months without having to buy detergent or cleaning products because I don't like it being "dirty". I feel so normal now

OMG my pillows in bed. They have to be just in the right position or I can really not sleep and no one else can lie on them. I've already told my husband that when he gets out my pillows are a no go area ha ha¬

I sort my M&Ms by color before I eat them. Cracks my co-worker up every time. All lined up on my desk. Then I eat the color with the most till I get even numbered piles and then eat one color at a time till they are gone.

I separate skittles and eat them by color....yellow or purple are last as they are my favorite.

Do you sanitize the washer and dryer too?

Do your guests ever risk using your bathroom when they visit or do they just wait?

I am reading book V of the Dragon Tattoo series and there is an MD that is OCD on cleaning. She cleans her apartment after the professional cleaning crew leaves. Made me never want to go visit her and since it is a novel, she lives in Sweden & she is a murdering shrew I think I am safe.

Yes I sanitize the washer! I don't have a dryer, I hang everything to dry after I wash it twice!!!LOL I let people use my bathroom I clean it everyday so it never gets a chance to get dirty. But I change guest towels after someone uses them. I can't use a towel after someone else. Can't change my clean ways now.

My god! My life would get so complicated if I had to follow these routines that y'all deal with.

Can any of you remember when you started them, or why they give such calm?

Honestly I don't know why I do some stuff, but if I don't I'm a lunatic and have to do what I feel I must. I didn't realize washing hangers was odd. I've been doing it as long as I've done laundry. I just put most in dish washer. I know when I say it it sounds crazy but I can't help doing it or I will rewash the clothes again washing hangers is easier.

I live alone. Before bed I always fold the blanket up on my chair I use to cover up when I’m up. There is NO reason to do so because I’ll just take it down in the morning. I could just throw it over the chair but I take the time to nicely fold it up. There are a lot of things I do that don’t really need to be done because no one ever comes over. Waste of time.

What kind of "crazy"? Anger, fear, general anxiety, intrusive thoughts, something else?

More like anxiety and I just can't even use a cup out of my own cabinet with out washing it even if I just put it away. I have been like this for years, been on meds as long as I not hurting anyone I just do what I do. Most of my friends are used to my cleaning stuff over and over. My grandmother was really bad ocd and I think I inherited some of her crazier traits. Mine are mainly cleaning stuff. yet my mail is sitting in a pile in front of my computer once a week I get rid of it. I make my bed everytime I get up. When I am sick all night my bed get made 10 or more times. I can't lay down again until its perfect.

Come visit and clean my houze. You'll be busy and exhausted by the time you are done.

Might need to stay at least a a week.
Xoxoxo

If it is not hindering your life, then it is ok. If it immobilized you and you can't leave the house, function, work etc... then it becomes a problem.

All my friend say the same they love when I start cleaning their kitchens!!! I don't walk into a strangers house and do it!! I used to do this at my parents house and my mother would get insulted. I really felt bad but I just can't make my self drink out of a cup I don't wash. I worked in lots of resturants and wouldn't eat in any that I didn't wash the stuff my self.

I could keep you busy at my house for a few months. LOL>!

I went thru a stage where I would have to have my room perfectly in order.
Keys would have to be hung up on the key hook. Everything hung up, or folded and put away.

I got over it. lol.
Im a slob now. Unless you count my car. I hate having anything laying around in it that is not needed. I even hate having to keep a grocery bag in there (but in my state you have to bring your own, buy just what you can carry, or pay for a bag.....)

Oh, what a shame! You know, you can always trap them under glass and then slide a sheet of paper under the rim and take the beastie outside....

But spiders help to keep the other insects under control! Their prey fly or crawl into their webs - mosquitos, especially.

Then how have you survived in the south all these years? I know you've seen roaches nearly as big as your Jeep.
