Default Detainers-when will they pick him up?

So my husband is due to be released on 5/1/19 on MRS.
However since he has been locked up he got hit with a non support charge from another county in KY. I'm pretty sure it will get dismissed since he has been incarcerated for 21 months and they weren't aware of that before charging him. But my question is how long does the other county have to come and get him? Are they notified upon the end of his current sentence or before hand? I'm impatiently waiting for my love to come home. Any information you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

If the detainer has been lodged, he will be released probably May 1 to the other county to face those charges.

What does that mean lodged? He was also informed that the county only has court once a week on Wednesday. How long do you suppose it will take to get a court date? He is feeling a little discouraged. Anything positive I can tell him would be appreciated. Again thank you for your help

Lodged just means that DOC is aware of the new charges and detainer.

He will be sent to that county facility to wait the process of that county's court system. I'm sorry but that's the way it goes. Just imagine when he started this whole process before he was incarcerated this time.

I have no idea when he will get a court date. I'm sorry.
