Hello, has anyone heard anything about visiting on Memorial Day? From what I know it's not a visiting holiday... But another visitor mentioned getting an appt for that day? I don't see anything on vpass for it.. Mentions holiday as 1/1, 7/4, 11/27, 12/25

Shoes need to have a back. Only one pair of earrings, one ring (2 if it's a wedding set) one bracelet, one. necklace

Get there 9:45.AM they start letting non appt in at 11AM, but you line up in the hut. The rule is "a visitor cannot be on grounds more than one hour prior to visit. That being said bring a bottle of frozen water and get there 9:45AM.

Hi all, wondering if folks are getting past the metal detector with zippers... I've got new pants with a plastic and metal zipper, no other metal. Should I chance it, or yank out the zipper and the sewing machine?

Thx!

Going to visit this weekend, on my b'day Sat., and Sunday of course. Our first visit since our wedding weekend in March. This ain't an easy row to hoe!

My jeans usually go in with no problem. "Usually"... I did have one time the jeans I had taken in before set off the metal detector. I had to cut the metal button off... but for the most part jeans are no problem. As always take extra pants just in case unless you are ok with borrowing something from the trailer. Good luck and enjoy your visit

So happy you're getting to visit!

I've got in with the zipper being nylon and only the pull being metal. But I will say I've seen them send women to change who had the little...ok, I'm about to show my no-sewing-smarts vocab...metal clasp that's flat and slides in, instead of a button. They're so small and it was enough to set it off. I only say that because I think it depends on how sensitive they have the detector set that day.

I'm over the wondering and just rip it all out. My pants last time were a total mess under my shirt! Everything ripped out and stitched up. Ha!

P.S. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Here's a crazy question. If I reserve an appt for two people and bring 4 people, will they trip?

Thanks! I sometimes think I'm not getting the email. But then I realized it was just very much delayed.

THANK YOU!!! It was great, so much work to get there, 10 hours travel each way, but I do it for when he walks through that door, ya know?

Man, I can't believe what many women are allowed to wear!! Skin tight dresses, while I wear baggy sh*! to be on the "safe" side. Honestly. So bizarre. Amazed when I think how much time I spend fussing over whether will I be allowed in or have to go change.

The zipper capris ended up being too big when I tried them on at home, so I didn't wear them anyway, and they are going back to the store. But Miamac, I know what you mean, that metal claspy thing some pants have instead of a button.

My husband asked the visiting room CO if he could give me a third kiss, for my birthday, and he said no. If one person did it, every one would want to. Of course by "kiss" is meant a mini makeout session.
