Shu questions:

Does anybody know when they hear about money send to them(is it on a special date)? When can they go to the commissary (how many times a month or is it also a special date)?

He's been there about 9 months. I usually send monthly money orders, which he gets notice of as soon as the incoming mail is processed. He's able to order commissary one time per month. Although he gets notified of my PMOs as soon as they are received, he has been told that the PMO funds can't be spent until 30 days after receipt.

What is pmo? Is that a money order?

I sent it with jpay, on my account it says that it's sent. It's been almost a month, and I haven't heard him talk about it.

When I wrote PMO, I meant "Postal Money Order" sold at U.S. Post Offices.

I sent JPay once, at the start of the hunger strike, in case of disruptions of services. My understanding is he received notification within one week and was able to spend the funds at the next order date, whenever it was.

When I send jpay my husband gets the money in his account within 48 hours, and he's notified by staff right away - I know this as when I go see him I send him a jpay when I get home and he gets to know about that sooner than the postcard I always send as soon as I get home.

They go to store once a month - the actual date varies a little each month.

Hello--I was wondering if anyone knows about ordering magazines for the inmates; if there is a preferred site to place a subscription for mags from.

Any info would be appreciated :-)

I have ordered magazines more often from amazon.com than from any other source. No problems.
