Default Ann Pennsylvania intro

Hey I have been lurking forever but my surrender seems so imminent now that I just have to feel the need to belong somewhere that supports the prison life. I have been sentenced to mandatory minimum of one to three years with the chance for parole after one year. I stole money from an elderly couple that I had cared for for almost fifteen years. Due to a back injury, I became addicted to oxycontin and percocet. In 2008, I starting taking money to pay for my addiction. In May of 2009, I turned my self into the police for the crime. In December of 2009 I plead guilty. THe only reason I am still out was to wait on the outcome of my workers compensation case. I make restitution every month and now I settled my case. I should have my check by the end of December and then I will surrender. I have been married for 27 years to the love of my life and we have three Children, Ashley 24 a teacher, Missy 22 a nurse and TOmmy 20 is a future lawyer. I can honestly say that the thought of going to prison keeps me awake at night. I have never been any trouble before this. Nothing. My girls are getting married in 2011 and 2012. I have lost my friends. I have no one but my husband and children and even times, I ashamed to be with them. I am anxious about going away but I know it will be the first step in trying to get a normal life again. Thanks for listening.

ann,

you are not alone anymore! welcome to PTO! everyone makes mistakes. some are illegal. once we get caught up in the legal system, most of us begin learning not to judge.

congrats to you for turning yourself in. i hope you are working on the addiction problem. it's not an easy thing to conquer, and i wish you the best of luck. please feel free to PM me if you want to hear a non-judgemental voice.

Hey Ann lighten up a little, life in the can sucks no doubt ,but there is a light at the end of that tunnel. I myself Just finished up 2 years , lost everything but sanity will return, just keep in mind your family is still going to have to live their lives, and their going to need you to do that ,so keep in mind sometimes a problem is an opportunity in disguise. Good luck to you and your family.
