That's a lesson many of us learned the hard way (as many prison lessons are taught) after being labeled as a "complainer".

I'm sorry it's a very sore subject for me especially was having a bad day but again we all seem to learn the hard way whatever our intentions are!!

The COs will label him a complainer and they will make life miserable for him. He's in prison for something he did, he should be man enough to handle his own problems.

Any update on the fallout? :/

And if it makes you feel any better, I've been doing this a little while and I still stumble into things I never meant to. This past weekend I may have caused all of the writing material to be removed from visiting rooms. Totally innocent question posed to the visiting sergeant tipped him off to the fact that we had pencils in visiting. I didn't know we weren't supposed to, they've been there since I started visiting over 18 months ago. They provide them! Apparently that's not supposed to be happening and joy of all joys, I'm the one who announced it. But that's life and if I hadn't done it, someone else may have or he may have walked in and saw them himself (honestly, how are you in charge of visiting and you haven't been in the visiting rooms? but I digress...)

It happens.

Nothing was said or done after the LT confronted him. He's just making due with what he has til I can afford to slowly replace what he needs.

Sorry, but that's often how things go in prisons, we can't contradict the staff now can we?

You guys were right about staff not liking peoples family calling down there. Just yesterday when we were on phone he had to let me go as Co's came in there telling them to catch their racks. Co's starting telling them to quit having their people call down there asking when lockdown would be lifted. Said when MDOC gives the word they'll let them up. Also to quit having people call and ask why maintenance haven't fixed their toilets or fixed their blower. Said they would give them hell if calls kept continuing. Soon as he told me what was said the 1st thing I thought about was this whole thread. They deff hate the phone calls.

What prison is he in. I call my husband's prison alot. At least three times a week. I don't give them my name or his name unless his name needs to be given. Nothing has ever been done to him or anyone else for that matter. He must be in a pretty bad prison yikes

This is common in most prisons. Sh*t rolls down hill has never applied so consistently.

Yesterday someone was stabbed. Not sure if they died or not. They are on lockdown because one death that was at first said suicide was actually ruled beat to death. The only way to get to him was a CO's keys so CID is still doing investigation. I guess families are calling irritating these officers and they are getting tired of it. They had the warden walking around different zones yesterday so I'm pretty sure something is going on. 4 deaths, a co's keys, and stabbing in a month or so doesn't look good for that warden. I hope people stop calling because I don't want to see mine having to stay on his rack constantly.

Prison is just prison. Its a jungle out there.

This is when people need to call mdoc complaining!!! I'd be raising hell!!! I know I said not to complain but certain things need to be reported I've even called news stations on occasion so that people know whats going on behind those walls. Something like murder needs to be investigated and so do the CO's who allow this stuff to happen.

I'm pretty sure that's part of why they are. Someone's family member was found dead and it had to do with one of their co's keys. Oh Barbie I could tell you so much that goes on there that he tells me but I just keep it shut. Can't discuss it here or anywhere. Its sad.

Its crazy when a prison tries to rule it out to be a suicide when it WASNT. I've heard that's the 1st thing DOC always tries to go for. This time they couldn't.

It is indeed a sad state of affairs when a Warden in the buildings is an uncommon thing. During my career, we ALWAYS had senior administration through the units at least twice a day and even the Captains and Majors were expected to be accessible.

I made it a point to walk the buildings no fewer than three times each day. MANY issues get fixed that way.

In six years I’ve never called the prison. I’m curious as to what you call the prison for 3 times a week? That seems like a lot.

Anything my husband asks me to inquire about. I've gotten so much shit done for him by making these calls. I haven't made any in a few weeks but if something comes up best bet I will be making the call.

Exactly prisoners need advocates out here because nothing can be done from the inside. I've called the health dept about six times and guess what. They got new showers with no mold. Finally

He tells me alot but there's no way I'm calling down there. Its nothing for him to be standing in water at the payphone and the ceiling(pipe I'm guessing) is just pouring water. I told him to make a life jacket cause I sure ain't calling down there. Lol. Matinence is supposedly not in but it also seems matinence is never in. Centex, I'm guessing that warden walk thrus don't always mean bad? It just seems warden has visited thru there alot lately.
