I'm not sure, but I think they're in orientation for a week or two and then they're assigned their permanent housing. He should be able to get a package when that happens. You could also try calling the prison to find out how long he has to wait before a package can be ordered.

We also use JPay, although there is a fee depending on how much money you send. My son receives notice within a day or two of sending it.

As far as I know, CD's can only be sent in a quarterly package. Each vendor has a pretty good selection, but it depends a lot on what your LO wants. Hope that helps.

Does anyone have recent experience sending books? I was told to use a po box but I don't think SCC has a po box. My son has only been there a couple weeks and he wants some books but I'm not exactly sure how to do it other than Amazon.

We sent books from Amazon in August. I used his regular address which doesn't contain a PO box and they got there with no problem. The books must be sent through a vendor such as Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

Does anyone know if 8x10 photos are acceptable? I think I remember that those are the largest they can receive, but want to make sure it's ok at SCC. Thanks!

According to instructions I received from FSP a few years ago, "Newspapers, paperback books and/or magazines MUST be sent by the publisher, bookstore, vendor or religious organization ONLY...NO EXCEPTIONS". I don't see a problem with what you want to have sent, but you might check with SCC first before you order the book.

Yes you can send anything just it can't be something you buy at at a bookstore and you mail yourself. It's best to have the company Mail it that way it won't be send back. But your loved one has to stay on top of his packages since they lag to pass out duckets to go get there stuff.

I'm sorry I don't know. We always use JPay to send money on his books. He gets it within a day or two, but I've heard that a money order can take much longer.

I want to send a book to an inmate. Through Amazon the book is over $30, but if I send it through a vendor in England it is only $7. Will this be acceptable?

I don't see why this would be a problem if it's a reputable vendor although it might take quite a while to reach the inmate plus extra shipping charges might apply. I'm not sure I would take a chance on it being accepted, but maybe someone will come along with better information.

Exclamation Package Product Issue

Just a heads up, if you order this product for your for your LO on main side order it in white because the CO's didn't allow my husband to have the grey colored one they said its too dark. They told my husband he could send it home for about $20 or he could donate it!!? Not sure if I should call and question that one or just let it go.

Vendor: Walkenhorst's
Product: New Era Flat Bill Snapback Baseball Cap - Gray
Product Code: 62272-003 Price: $14.90
