Default Anyone from south Texas?

Hey y'all! We're looking to move to the San Antonio area in the next 6 months. Wanted to see if there's anyone there and how they like it.

Hey! Thanks! My fiance has a great job offer there after working there for his company last summer after the hurricane. I spent my summers as a teenager in Rockport area and loved it. We have a 3 year old daughter and 3 older kids who will spend school holidays with us. Is there a lot for kids? I'm so nervous about finding quality childcare there and finding employment for myself (I've been with the same company for 12 years!!)

We're in AZ where it's miserably hot...but it's a different heat and I understand that having been in both. It's regularly 115 here but it's only humid in the monsoon season...like right now. But doesn't get near the humidity that you do! I remember it being like 98 and 99% humidity.

Thank you! We are trying to make plans and sell our house here and such. I've never been away from "home". I mean I've lived on my own since I was 18 but in the same town, just down the street from my mom and sister. It's a big leap!

It’s hot as hell here AND humid so be prepared. I basically hibernate after 10 am!

Yeah I'm prepared. I grew up spending all my summers on the coast so I know what to expect. Actually right now where I am in AZ is sitting exactly the same as San Antonio. 95 degrees and 45% humidity. But I've been on the Texas coast at 98 degrees and 98% humidity so I know how bad it gets. At least I should be able to grow an insanely awesome garden nearly year round! I'm excited for that!

We're ready to be somewhere GREEN with lots of water! It's seriously just brown here and feels like a convection oven when it's not monsoon season. Dust storms literally every single afternoon all season long. 115 with blowing dust. It's disgusting.
