Default Parole for Parole Violators (no new charges) in Texas? How much time?

My boy friend got a charge in Texas in 2006 for Delivery in a Drug Free Zone and he did 5 yrs flat and came out on Parole which he violated this past year in 2016.His violations were technical vioations. His first parole was denied and he has good conduct in Garza East where he has been since he went back. Does the parole board grant parole for these repeat offenders and does anyone know how much time they are doing on violations. He was originally sentenced to 10 yrs and has no new charges. He was sent back for not being on the address in file with parole and has good conduct. Any chances of him getting out on parole again ? Thank you for any help.

Absconding is more than a mere 'technical' violation. It is the ultimate thumbing of one's nose at the mandates of supervision. So, while he may have returned with no new conviction, he is at risk of doing at least a couple of years on the balance of the ten year sentence. The DFZ renders him ineligible for street-time credit, so he came back in with his prior flat time plus whatever has been done since being locked up on the parole warrant and revocation. This is why he was eligible almost before the ink was dry on the revocation.

Following the rules in TDCJ is not the feather some make it out to be. After all, the majority of offenders follow the rules while in custody. It is the screwing up on supervision that causes the problems in the voting process...
