Default Dog keeps sitting on our feet

Its funny but can be annoying at times.
He will plant himself on your feet if you are standing, or sitting. He especially does this to my hub. Even when hub is sitting at the table on the laptop.

He puts himself in between my hub and me. (I think he's either protecting one of us...(hub) and will run and grab a toy if we are sitting to close to one another.

Like I said, it can be annoying sometimes. lol

If been off work this weekend, and so I was main feeder and ball thrower.
He starts getting antsy and wants to go to the park.
He knows when Im getting ready to think about taking him. And follows in earnest.

I'll finally think, ok, ya gotta take him. So I'll get my shoes on, and of course remember something else I need to do before. He's right at my heels. lol.
Then I decide to use the potty. He's RIGHT THERE. Waiting.
peer pressure ya know? I tell him just wait, in a minute.
He will look away so I can go........lol.

Then he gets to his feet as soon as I do, and starts to head out, looks back to see if Im coming.

Then he will run to the door. I tell him nope, other door...he runs to that door.

It cracks me up.
I like to mess with him when he is anticipating what door we go out of
But as soon as I grab the leash and chuckit stick......he's READY and gets down in the border collie stance to see what way I go.

My dog is like 12 and 1/2 so she's not to playful anymore. But she still loves to go for walks and when we come in she sits right by her cookie jar and won't move until she gets her cookies!!!

That border collie crouch is about as ready as a lion on the savannah! It's a wonderful memory of my Jack, ready, right now, any time now, still focusing, come on! They never ever refuse an activity!

That said, I also had a dolphin who would always swim between me and my husband...Every. Single. Time. Hub was abusive, and I wonder if the dolphin knew.....

I had a border collie I use to live on a lake and my sisters kids would come over all the time well that dog kept them from ever getting near the water it was rather amusing to watch her round them up like sheep!!! Kind of crazy dog like there was not anything she wouldn't destroy. She even tunneled under cement patio!!!

My cat does that. He will back right up to my feet and sit on them. It's weird but it doesn't bother me. Wonder why he does it.

No clue as to why.
Could be he's *claiming you*

Or maybe they just want to be close?
Or maybe they are just being buttheads and not letting you move.

Lol I think he's just being a butt head. I can't wait for my husband to come home. These are his babies and they were all about him. I've had to of course take over his roll in their lives and now they are mine. But I see that changing as soon as he walks in the door. I let them in the spare room so they can smell him and not forget him. That's where all of his clothes and shoes are they love it in there.

I cracked up yesterday with the dog.
We had a bunch of errands to do (and it got complicated)
So in the afternoon I went to take the pup to the park. His fav thing!
We were on our way when we see hubby riding his bike toward us. (he bikes ALOT)
Pup is super excited. He loves his *daddy* better than anything. Maybe even the park. lol.

Hub says......let him go. (off leash)
So I do, and hub turns around and starts riding away with pup hot on his heels.
He goes maybe half a block and turns around, pup still hot on his heels.
And comes back to me.
Pup kept up with him the whole way.
Later hub checked his speed.
That pup was running at about 18mph!!

So our park session was shortened. He was a pooped pup.
Hub sorta regretted it because he was worried the dog may have hurt himself running that hard on the asphalt.

It was not hot yesterday so that part was good.

We decided hub needs to take the pup out on a dirt path next time.
fyi, I think the pup is fine. Not limping or anything like he sometimes does after a good workout at the park. But he is still tired.
We will go later and maybe just take a walk, not play ball.
give him a rest.

someone is now afraid of fireworks.
Yesterday after his first walk to the park, someone set off a cherry bomb. (not legal!)
I think it was the house on the corner from us. We were in the garage and BOOM.
Pup ran up to me and behind me.
poor pup.
Stuck by me and couldnt wait to get inside the house.

Then as the fireworks started, he was all cowered next to my side of the bed.
(he usually starts out on hubs side, then goes out to his crate or the couch)
So I got up for a while with him with the tv on.
We both fell asleep lol.

Dog is so weird.
He's been eating rocks at his day care. Only reason we know is well...poop patrol.
We do not have those rocks at our house.
It scares me, and dont know why he's doing it.
good god I gotta retire, and stop taking him to day care. (I know that must be why he's doing it)

It has to do with anxiety, my dog loves rocks she is obsessed with them, when I use to work I had to get her doggie Prozac lol she doesn't eat them just puts as many as she can in her mouth and carry them around or will lay down and lick them. I've had to try to break her off it it many times lol. We don't have rocks where I live now but she now gets the golf balls that come over our fence. But, when I go to Vegas to my daughter's house they have rocks and she goes crazy she will pick up certain ones to go pee with and another one to poop. She makes piles of them all over the yard. It's crazy, vet told me it was anxiety or feeling abandoned but idk I just think she loves rocks. I use to worry about her eating them too but I've never seen her there grandkids say she has but idk I've never seen her do it.

finally figured out why he's eating rocks/pebbles.

I told them at his day care about finding rocks in his poop after he's been at day care.
So they couldnt figure out why either as they dont really have any rocked in areas.
This has happened several times after he has been there.

So yesterday, I was speaking to one of the gals who works there and we were talking about how silly this dog is. How he sits on the edge of the doggy pool and stares at the water, barking to make it move.
Water obsessed that one.
Any way ........she says oh he likes to bring us pebbles and will drop them at our feet. We dont know where he's getting them but him and another dog do this all the time. We know we are supposed to watch him cause he will eat them. We throw the rocks/pebbles over the fence so they cant get them.

OMG. mystery solved! (except for where they are getting the rocks)
They also said one gal will take those two out and toss the ball for them.
I said, he loves loves loves his ball time.

silly obsessive dog.
