Default Looking for updated information on Interstate Compacts

My son only has 9 months before he is released, we are planning to move to PA when he gets out, I know that he has to have $200 on his books to cover the cost and that the request has to be in 120 days before his release...then what? And how long do they give him to get from Point A to Point B (AZ to PA)?

Are you moving before or after he's released? I believe it makes a difference. In any event, Compact Rules state that:

Resident Family [has to live in the] receiving state for 180 calendar days or longer as of the date of the transfer request.

Here is a link to the Interstate Commission:

and a link to the current rules:

Yes the above message is correct I looked a lot into this before - if you are wanting him to move he has to have family in the state you are listing him moving to that are residents of that state for at least 6 months minimum prior to even submitting an application to be considered for a compact for him to move there upon release bc they will begin to look into that person or people listed during the 120 days so they have to be there already as residents for that 6 months and then they have to decide that your loved one is better off moving hence examples more support emotionally more opportunities etc and the family has to state they will support the person until they are able to as the new state does not want people moving then applying for state aid if they can't get jobs right away - and either state can deny the request and if on intensive supervision probation az does not allow compacts he will have to wait until he does well and has his probation changed to regular which can take a year or more - that's what I was told as my guy will be on intensive supervision so az compact already said nope no way never happens they will never send anyone on that to another state - but look up that website I learned a lot on that I also called the az compact office and asked a lot of questions

I have another son who already leaves in PA with his dad, (my ex, but different dads). My son who lives in PA has lived there since he was 17, he is 25 now. His dad owns the home that he (his dad) grew up in, his grandfather built the home in the late 60's early 70's I believe. My son who is being released in 9 months, will be 23 years old when he gets out. He is being released on SMI Probation.

So your other son would have to be listed as host/resident family.
