Exclamation Visiting inmates in CONNECTICUT if I have a record?

Hey guys Iím just wondering if youíre allowed to visit inmates if you have a record? My husband recently went to prison and Iím afraid I wonít be able to visit him. Does it depend on the charges you were convicted of? Or do you need a completely clean record? Does anyone have any similar situations? Or have gotten approved with a record? Any advice or answers will be helpful. Thanks in advance

Its going to depend on what your charges were, when they were and whether or not you're his co-defendant. Per Connecticut's visitation policy:

Quote:
(2) Current and Ex-Offenders. A current or ex-offender shall be precluded from routine placement on an inmate's visitor list. However, a current or ex-offender may request permission to visit, in writing, through the facility administrator.
Link to the above info from CT's DOC webpage: How do I visit someone who is incarcerated.

Write the Warden and request permission.....if denied, write every 6 months

You can still apply for a visit depending on the charge you can get approved...good luck
