Ok I am just finding this thread.. lol

Well I'm TeRe, been on PTO almost a year now.. I live in Oregon, but I am originally from Ohio.. My sweetie is in Lebanon Correctional at the present time.. He's been down since 2000.. We have anywhere from 18-24 months left, if we decide to file JR then we may have less time.. I've known my sweetie for 10 years, we were best friends.. however I moved to Oregon and he got locked up.. but 2 years ago we reunited and been together since.. Lebanon doesn't allow marriages at this time, so we are not legally married yet, but we are in God's eyes.. We have a long road behind us, but we have an even longer road ahead.. God Bless everyone!!

Hi all
I'm Sherry, My fiance Jonathon is at London Correctonal and will be up for parol in 2009. We have known each other since we were kids in 1979 (just babies). He's been in prison since 1996. I have always supported him as my friend, but we fell in love two years ago. I have to tell you at first I was sick about it, I mean really who wants to grow up and fall in love with someone in prison, just to sit out here and be lonely?
That's what I thought at first. But now I don't know how I ever lived without him. I'm happier than I ever have been, I would rather hear his voice on the phone and think of his smile sometimes than breathe. All of this time apart is going to be so worth it when he gets home.

My name is Cindy. My husband was released November 10th of last year after serving 9 years. During that time, we formed a non profit organization named Ohio SORT (Stop Offenders, Rehabilitate and Treat)

We work on all issues and have been successful in many areas including death row issues, and sex offender issues. Currently we have been invited to work with the DRC on visitation issues. (This comes after we spoke to them and stated our opinion and position regarding the PREA law. (prison rape elimination act)

We are working on a legislative action day for February of 2005. Already there are several non profit organizations and many individuals who have expressed interest in attending and speaking to their respective legislators about prison issues.

We reside on the west side of Cleveland and I am active in the Restorative Justice Mission Group, Death Penalty Moratorium and Cure. We publish an excellent newsletter (the best in the state), do public speaking and are working on many, many issues.

Cindy Mollick
Director, Ohio SORT, Inc.

Smile Hello

Hello. My name is Carla. My husband took an alpha plea and is now in prison for a crime that he didn't commit for a year. I have learned that things do happen for a reason. Since he has been there we have gotten so much closer. We were very close before he left, but now we are even closer. We have been together for over 8 years and have been married for six. We have a wonderful daughter named Jessyca. She just turned a year old. Her daddy had to miss her first birthday party. He just says that it's okay. He'll have all the others. He's doing very well, and I'm very, very proud of him. It's nice to meet all of you. I hope to get to know some of you.
Take Care,
Carla

Hi everyone, My name is Tess, my story is long but I'll make it short. Rocky is my first love, I found him after 26 yrs. Sad to say he is doing life, he has been incarcerated for almost 20 yrs now, we are hopeful he will be released some day. Our love has been rekindled, like someone else said "first love, always love" something like that, anyway, I've visited him twice now. It was magical, I love him dearly. He recently got transferred to Belmont which is great because he is less then an hour from me now. Good luck to you all!!

Hi to all. I'm 29 (for the first time ha ha). I have three children 6, 4, and 1 years. My boyfriend was sent to Lorain 2 weeks ago on a 6 month sentence (not long but seems like forever right now!) Has already done 3 months in county. We met 2 months before his sentence started and had planned on being "just friends" while he is gone. So glad that didnt work out. :} Have been visiting this site since the first night he was gone. Just want to say that all of y'all show such strength. Hope I can be as strong.

Hi, my name is Susan and some of you have read my post regarding my story. Coming here... I came for help and hope. To make a friend or two would be icing on the cake. I am not incarcerated as of yet, but am facing charges that could land me in prison for what could be anywhere between 6 -12 months. Some of you may thing, oh wow, that's nothing... but I think anyone who is even looking at 1 day in jail would be frightened. I know some are doing rather long sentences and I truly feel for them as I would hope someone would for me as well. Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself.

Best wishes to anyone who has a loved on doing time. Its not just them doing the time, everyone who loves them is doing the time right along with them. The families and loved ones are the victims that seem to get lost in the crossfire. My heart truly goes out to all of you.

Susan

Hi Susan, welcome to PTO. You've come to the right place for help & hope. I agree with you, ONE day behind bars can feel like a lifetime to the inmate, family, & friends. And the experience can be frightening to say the least. I pray you find inner peace to assist in your surviving any time sentenced to jail. Thank you for introducing yourself. Keep your head up.

Hey Ohio, I am slightly new to PTO. My name is Shannon and I have two children, a boy that will be two and a little baby girl that will be 3 months old. My baby's father is currenlty incarcerated thats why I am here of course. I basically discovered this place trying to find out information to a place he was, then saw that the women here are very supportive and are going through the same things so I decided to become a member and stay awhile. I told him about this place and he thought it was great to have people to talk to with the same interests as me. Thanks!

Hi! Im mz.k. Im from northeast ohio...My boyfriend has just started on doing a 2 year bit. We have 2 daughters together 12 and 1. We have been together off and on for 13 years. 10 years ago he went to jail and did 3 years, we broke up and I ended up married to someone else when he got out. He waited a whole 5 years for me, and after my divorce we ended up back together. So this time around I will definitely be there when he gets out. I found this site accidently(I still dont know exactly how i found it). But it must have been fate, cause Im glad i have real people to relate to the real issues of having a loved one incarcerated.

Hi! My name is Sarah, and i'm from good Ol' Missouri! My fiancee is origianally from Ohio so when he came to Missouri he was probation. Well he was violated and shipped right back to Ohio. Here i set 4 months later, 600 miles away from the love of my life...His sentence was executed and he was sentenced to 9 months... so 5 months from now we will be united and this nightmare will be over...
