Question Why even bother trying to ERS out

"Any time served on ERS is not applied to the sentence or used to reduce a sentence."

I found this quote in MDOC info about ERS.Now if this is the case why even ERS?They will still have the full sentence hanging over their heads. So what good is ERS?

I do not understand all about it.The best I can tell you is go to the website and read up on it or call your case manager.

I'm not positive, but I believe that only applies when a person on ERS violates the terms of ERS. You can be on Earned Release Supervision for a year and have 1 month to go, but if you violate the terms, MDOC gets you back for that full year and a month. Is it fair? No. That seems to be the status quo with MDOC.

I've been out on ERS for almost 20 months and I'm doing very well. It all depends on the officer you have and the county you ERS out to. I was thankful to come home on ERS. Believe it or not you can do it. I know I am with God by my side. Hope this encourages you hon <3
