I hope this helps some of you. There are many threads in the SMCI sub-forum with some info from people whose loved ones have been through the program there.

I am still looking for someone that has been through the RID program within the the last year are so. My son is still waiting in county to be sent to Rankin. That is where my main conern is becuase i pray that he don't have to stay there long before he can get in the camp.

How long did he have to stay at Rankin and what was that like for him. My son has been in county for 17 days still waiting to be picked-up. Did you know when he got transfered to the boot camp. I worry that i will not where he is when he leaves county.

Hi. My fiance is currently in the end of the 1st phase of the RID program at SMCI 3. He stayed in Rankin Co. for about a month before he was transferred. The RID program is basically boot camp. The first phase is the hardest because they have to do a lot of exercising. As they progress, things get easier. My fiance looks like a brand new person, though. He is more in tune with his spirit, and he speaks more intelligently. I think this program is tough but beneficial. The visits are every 1st and 3rd Saturday for 1st and 2nd phase inmates, and every 2nd and 4th Saturday for 2nd and 3rd phase inmates. The time is from 8:00am to 12:00pm. GET THERE EARLY to avoid waiting in long lines.
