Default LA prisons making money!

My ex-husband just said that my sons parish is the highest money maker in LA. A recent report states that Claiborne Parish made the most money for housing (warehousing) state prisoners at, $4.4 million with Caddo Parish at $3+mil, and Bossier Parish a little under $3mil. Louisiana is making big bucks from putting people in jail. The local Sheriff who runs his collection of parish prisons earns whatever the market will bear in % of profits, including commissary and those expensive phone calls!

The state pays ~$25.00 per inmate per day. The Sheriff and Wardens trade people around like bargaining chips, keeping the most non-violent ones, ones with talents they can use running the place, and dumping the problem inmates. It makes you wonder how much energy is left for Justice and rehabilitation, which my son says is non existent.

This isn't anything we louisianans don't already know! This is the most corrupt state in the country, to. Its all about the money and who you know. To learn more , go to nola.com/prisons. Its an eight day series that was in the Times Picayune. My man may be home, but he is still on parole and living in this state, I walk on eggshells and shit when I see the police because they just as soon throw your ass in jail over here in a flash. They'll FIND a reason to revoke you. Gotta keep dem.jails.full for Christ sake. So they can keep the money flowing.

Unhappy I was thrown in jail with no evidence

I was thrown in jail for over a month its is called a bad arrest. Anyways my grandmother who is 85 accused me and my sister of breaking in her house and robbed her and then beat her up.The us marshalls had been looking for us for a few months. They finally caught up with me and my sister. They aressted us brought us to jail. They had no evidence , we did not get a proper investigation our bond was set at 80,000. That is crazy and I dont have a record. All of this saying I went through all this mental trauma for nothing. The D A dropped all of the charges considering their was no police reports ever reported so I dont gave any faith in the louisiana system. Its all about money. I really feel bad for the ones that are really innocent sitting in jail. Keep your heads up who are going through this.

Another story I heard last night about the SUPER FANTASTIC local police is ---they went to arrest a guy for a federal offense of destroying mail or some crazy stuff like that, right? He is known to them for all his drug offenses and to flee. Since they got him early in the morning, he didn't have a shirt on. He asked one of the cops to let him go back inside the house they just took him from to put a shirt on, and guess what---he ran! I have never laughed to hard!
