Default Hubby headed to Dodge any day,"( Need info on phone, sending money etc

Hello everyone. So my hubby was sentenced on the 30th to 2 years. Robert has 6 mths credit and Judge approved him for ERP. I want to make it has easy for him as possible. Not sure what I need to do for phones, how I get him money. Because we r not legally married I won't be able to visit. But his attorney thought because he only has 2 years and 6 months credit so 18ths, he would go from Dodge straight to a ERP program. Anyone who has any info on some or all the above would be great. Oh one last thing, I was sending 50 a week for canteen and we were spending about 30 a day on phone. I know he won't get that much phone time. What is a good amount of money to send? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!!

I didn't see anything in the visitation rules that say only immediate family can visit, so being married or not has nothing to do with visit approval For other "issues," you may request a review after a year...or you might try asking for a one-time special visit after a few months

For phones you need to setup an account with Securus. You can do it on their website. A 15 minute phone call with cost about $2. While he is at Dodge in A&E you will not be allowed to visit because you are not considered immediate family since you are not legally married. While in A&E status he will be limited to what he can purchase and spend on canteen - he will be limited to hygiene items, food and a few basics like envelopes, paper, pen, cards, etc. They can only order every other week. I don't remember the exact amount they can spend, but $50 per week is more than enough. Money can be sent via a cashiers check sent to the facility or can be sent via Western Union. Check Dodge's website for specifics on address to send to and what information is required.

I don't have any information on ERP, but I would caution getting your hopes up that he will go straight from Dodge to the program. Beds are limited and there is always a waiting list.

Hope this helps!

My fiance just left Dodge in October. He said the canteen spending limit for A&E is $20. If you can afford to, send as much money as you can to him while he is at Dodge because the DOC takes a percentage of what you send in once he gets placed at the prison where he will serve out the remainder of his time.
The DOC takes about 1/2 of the money sent in for his release fund, outstanding court costs, restitution, etc. While at Dodge, they don't take any money off the top of money on his books and all of that money will transfer with him to where he ends up.
You will find phone calls are way cheaper now that he is in prison versus county jail, however, while at Dodge he will be limited to one 15 minute phone call per day (sometimes if he is lucky he might get 2 calls per day, other days he might not get any calls if they are on lockdown or depending on how many guys make calls) and there is no predicting when during the day he will get to make his phone call, they just rotate thru the A&E cellblock letting only a few guys out to make calls at a time.
I'm not overly familiar with the ERP but after chatting with another person on this site, I know her man got into the ERP when he left Dodge. He just got transferred out of Dodge to the prison where he will be serving out his time and working thru the ERP but he has to wait like 6 months for his bed date to begin the ERP.

I just sent you a private message. I'd be happy to talk with you more and be there to listen to your concerns and try to help answer your questions. Try not to worry too much, I know this is much easier said than done, things will be okay.
