Default The Gifts You and Your Loved One Have Received

I have a very dear relative who will be going to jail soon. Of course, this is devastating for myself and for my relative.

I would like to know what "gifts" your incarcerated relatives and yourselves have received as a result of being incarcerated.

What realizations have you or they had?

What aha's?

What growth has occurred for them or you?

For myself, I need to focus on the positive - otherwise, I get bogged down in the negative - the sadness and grief, etc.

Thank you!

I find it hard to believe that no one has realized any "gifts" from this experience on either side - no one has learned anything? Lives have not been changed in positive ways (someone going in one direction and changing directions as a result of this experience)?

No one's faith has grown stronger?

No one's understanding of anything has expanded?

That is sad.

I learned to be happy one day at a time. My LO already knew and practiced this. He says "Intent equals Success". Get a beautiful picture in your head, a favorite view, something you like then start policing your own thoughts and when the negative starts creeping in, immediately switch your thought to the beautiful field of flowers or other picture you have chosen. Good Luck!

That is an amazing skill. Thank you for sharing that. I am working hard on being positive and need all of the help I can get. Thank you!
