Default Death on C Yard at Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP) 12/25/2016

Has anyone heard any details about the inmate who died Christmas morning after coming back from breakfast/chow? His housing was C14, upper tier. I'm sharing that because I don't want to needlessly worry anyone.

My son saw the whole incident. The man had just come back from chow and was waiting to be let in his cell when he started vomiting blood and collapsed. I'm told he laid there for 20 minutes before any medical personnel arrived, even though multiple inmates saw him collapse and were yelling "Man down!"

When medical personnel finally arrived they attempted to revive him for 45 minutes, though he was still breathing when they got there.

My concern is that he was left there for 20 minutes, which is a ridiculously long time for a response to a medical emergency.

That is a very bad news. I have a friend there that I havent heard from in a while. Sending condolences to the family and friends involved and hoping I hear from my friend soon.

I'm so sorry to hear that. One of our biggest fears having a loved one in prison is medical emergency.

Prayers for his family and those who witnessed and felt helpless.

Yes, I agree with what both of you said, and I should have included condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.

Considering C is a "medical yard", the delayed response is baffling, though MCSP has a history of botched medical care. *sigh*

The deceased was Cherokee. Hoping your friend wasn't, so that we would know it wasn't your friend.

My friend is a Native American but I am not sure which tribe. That is a worry I am praying he is ok.

I was afraid of that. I have more information but don't want to make it public. I'll PM you if that's OK.
