Default Mandatory Reentry Supervision

So hubby is starting to talk about MRS. I feel like he's hearing things from other guys and thinking that's how it will be.

He's saying that with MRS he'll get out 8 months before his release date. He tells me the board will call me ONCE and I have to answer the phone (Like I don't have a full time job and 4 kids). Then he's saying they wont release him to another state (he's serving in KY, we live in Ohio) and he needs a Kentucky address.

Anyone know more about it??

By statute, MRS is 6 months however, once the good time and work time is calculated for those 6 months, then yes, it does let some out at 7, 8, or 9 months early.

He'll have to talk to his caseworker to begin Interstate Compact paperwork to see if Ohio will allow him to parole there. If not, then he may have to stay at a halfway house in KY until those last 6-9 months are completed.

Ohio should because when he originally got convicted in KY, he did 90 days in jail then 5 years probation which he would report here in Ohio. He's now serving for probation violation.

He was in county for a year and they moved him 3 hours away to a different county jail. He's saying 'the guys' are telling him that they will move him back to his conviction county before he's released.

He's currently in the SAP program. Once again, people are telling him once he completes it, he'll automatically be reviewed and released. I think he's grasping at any ray of hope of getting out.
