Exclamation Powhatan

Does anyone know if Powahatan correctional centre and powahatan classification and receiving is on lockdown ?I have not heard from my son for 4 days now. I also do not want to be calling the centre lest it has any impact on my son who is there right now.Any info is appreciated anad welcome.

I'm not sure if they're on lockdown or not, smartchild, but I think you should definitely call. If it eases your mind at all, I've called Greensville (where my husband is) to ask them the same thing and it has never affected my husband in any way. In fact, you don't even need to give your name - or his - when you call. When someone answers the main number, simply ask them if the facility is on lockdown. I don't think they'll make you identify yourself and your inmate before answering a general question.

It's worth a shot, anyway. At least then you'll sleep better knowing what's happening down there!

Default Powhatan

Thank you ChristianLdy, I did call the main # as you suggested.They were on lockdown since Monday.My son finally called us this evening. He mentioned that he heard a lot of talk among authorities that inmates with 18 months and less are having their sentences reduced and are being released.Mostly level 1 and ii inmates.Have you heard anything from your husband ?This is the result of the Governors cost cutting measures. I sincerely hope they do this all across the board.
