Unhappy Pen pal stopped writing, any way to find out if he's OK?

Long story short, my "prison pen pal" stopped writing me... I just need to know he's ok. Is there anyway to find out?! I've sent letters, a book, etc and nothing. I just need to know he's ok. We've been writing for over 10 years and he's never gone MIA before. His family isn't responding to me either. If he's written me off, fine, I just need to know he's ok and that's what it is.. : (

Any advice?!

You could try contacting the Chaplin at the prison.

There are a lot of changes happening in CDCR right now.

You don't need to answer these in the thread, but if he's a level 1 or 2, there is a chance he was moved. They are working to combine yards called "Non-Designated Programming"-- they are combining SNY and general pop.

If you haven't already, check the inmate locator using his CDC#. If it shows he's at a new facility, then you can try to get his new address there.

If it shows him at the same facility, then you can do as AndyS suggested and contact the chaplain. They may not tell you much of anything, but they will go and check on the inmate and report to you if they are still there.

Best of luck...

You can call records at the prison to make sure he hasnt moved. You can also contact the PIO and explain and he can check for you. 530-251-5100 PIO x: 5501
