Here's a link to an article:

Official: Guards Taken Hostage by Inmates at Delaware Prison

DOVER, Del. (CBS NEWS)-- Delaware prisons were locked down Wednesday as authorities responded to a hostage situation at the state’s maximum security facility.
Geoffrey Klopp, president of the Correctional Officers Association of Delaware, said he was told by the Department of Correction commissioner that prison guards had been taken hostage at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna. The DOC said in a statement to CBS News they are responding along with state police to a hostage situation. The statement did not elaborate on who had been taken hostage or how many hostages were reported.

Unhappy James T.Vaughn Hostages not yet released. The inmates are blaming TRUMP.

I hear the hostages are being held, and correctional officers(and inmates)make up for the hostages, but some have been released. The inmates on a call to the news is saying, it is becsause correction officers are mistreating at times the inmates and they want change and are saying it is also because of what Trump has "done" and is going to "continue to only get worse"for the inmates inside etc.,and are doing this because of the"continued" bad conditions and a devoid of educational access, and to the prison libraries for inmates, some can't use it etc.,

so, i just want to say i pray for all to be ok,and not be killed. I know it has to be so hard for some in prison. I can't imagine the families who are awaiting to hear what is going on.
In its 14th or 15th hour now. Praying for all to be okay.

Logged on to come find this. First, I do hope everyone who has a LO in there is ok or any other surrounding prisons that are locked down that their LO's are safe too.

It's all over twitter. #Vaughnrebellion if anyone is curious and wants to search the hashtag. Usually gets news first before anything else. Great for earthquake notifications.

It's more than just taking hostages. They're protesting inhumane prison treatment such as lack of nutritious food. The demands were for more education also for overall reform and rehabilitation.

Call from one of the hostages speaking to a journalist:

In the wave of political protests since January 20th I'm not surprised this happened.

One hostage found dead, another rescued as officials secure Delaware prison after standoff

Delaware prison officials said Thursday morning one hostage was dead but a second was safe after authorities went into a building at the state's largest prison where inmates took staff members hostage.
Officials said in a statement that the building where the disturbance occurred at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center is now secure. The prison is in Smyrna, about 15 miles north of the state capital of Dover.

So saddened to hear how it ended, and terrible that it even happened in the first place. Thoughts and prayers with those effected.

Hi, I am new here.... My son is at JTVCC and might have been in that building, I am not sure since he was just moved a few days ago. Can someone point me in the right direction of where I can post this and/or speak to others who's loved ones are at JTVCC? I can't seem to find any threads about this.

Thank you all

My dad is at JTVCC as well. He used to be in C but I am not sure where he is now. I don't know how long it'll be before any inmates are able to make phone calls.

I hope your son is okay. 💜

I am worried, too. Does your son send letters and call? I remember one time the phones were off for 2 weeks. That incident is nowhere near as bad as this one. I am going to be in a constant state of anxiety until I hear from him. I am sure you will as well. We can support each other.

Yes, he always calls especially since they lowered the calling fees recently. It's been so much easier to be in touch.
I just hope they are all ok.... Yes please let's try to support each other. It's so hard, I am freaking out. The most difficult part is not knowing what's going on. And they are all going to be punished for this whether they had any involvement or not.... This is so horrible! Please post something if you hear from your dad or get any information. I will do the same

So frightening. I hope all find out where their guy is. I pray for mine in DE., and a friend of mine, (his sister's BF was there back on a violation for months now)but yet they are not able to make a call...

No 1 has heard anything.I shall continue to pray for you all here who have a friend or son or husband/fiancee' at JTVCC. I know the killer who killed #StevenFloyd has not yet been identified at all, maybe he never will be,if the inmates all agreed not to as they call it "snitch."I feel so bad for the man familia.Way too young in his forties. Not right. Not right at all. I get protesting and wanting to make demands but this killing should have not happen. Not at all. RIP Sgt.Steven Floyd.
