Question Mail package prepared

OK, I have put together an envelope of bits and pieces to send over to Nick at Graterford Prison PA (Couldn't find a prison web site etc to get info tho, but I've done my best to research the general restrictions).

The envelope is of C5 size - it's am Australia Post Pre-paid envelope so there is not even a removable stamp on the envelope *g*

Enclosed are 3 postcards of scenes from my area all with inked text on the reverse side; pictures of a non- pornographic nature as well as a 4 page letter including one page of grey scale images also of a non-pornographic nature.

From what i've said here, can anyone see anything they think may be a problem?

When my man was inside, we could send in just about anything, magazines (as long as they weren't porn), photo's tapes, cd's videos, we could deliver to the prison electrical goods, but they were only permitted a certain amount of items per cell which was fair enough. The only stipulation was that anything we bought in, was permitted to be checked thoroughly by the Prison Officials, and for electrical items a Govt contractor would come out once a week and check all the items, pull them apart etc, and in the case of computers, a technician was contracted to search the PC for items not permitted in the prison - info on how to make bombs, drugs, escape plans, porn etc. All fairly reasonable requirements really.

Anyways... thanks in advance for your help.

Namh

As long as you didn't glue anything on to your letters or cards you should be fine. If you want to send magazines or books they have to sent directly from the bookstore or distributor. Tell Nick I'm sorry he's stuck there. Var was moved in May and I was so greatful.

nopes I've made sure there is nothing adhesive inside the package, the only thing sticky is the seal of the envelope!

I'll note to tell him hi from you etc when i next drop him a line. Apparently he's doing well though, keep positive.

Everything is fine that you have included. He won't have a problem getting it. I will alert him when I talk to him that it is on the way to him from you.
He will really enjoy the postcards. Yes he is doing good actually he is doing great. I sure wish I had his attitude.

Thanks Softie *hugs*

Aust post tell me it should take at the VERY most 10 days, so if he doesn't have it by August 10th I'll be surprised. I told him in my letter about the bending trees on the Greenough plans just south of my town. Geraldton is known as the windy city and over time it's gotten so the Red River Gums actually grow almost laying across the ground from the constants winds on the plains. One of the post cards I found actually had a picture of one of them so I had to include it *g*

Yes it usually takes 7-10 days to arrive from overseas.

WOW that sounds like a very cool site to see. I know he will enjoy them. I won't tell him what is in the envelope I will just tell him one is on its way from you. It will keep his curious mind busy for awhile...

Hugs

Oh you can post links here, just not other sites that do the same thing PTO does or links to solicitng money. Links to picture of Aussie are ok to post. I think it would be cool others may like to see them.

All though we have kind of got off the subject of the thread. Maybe you could start another thread if you find the links, so others can see them too. Or send them to my email or pm if you prefer.

hugs

will do

Have to admit - I'm kinda excited about sending this letter off I know it means a lot to the inmates to have that contact with the outside world so I know he'll appreicate it, as simple as it is.

Just wait til he heads for home and I get stuck into sending over Tim Tams and other Aussie Goodies *g*
