Exclamation Yuma - Early Release?

Hi all,

First time poster. I heard recently during a visit that inmates have been being released a few months prior to their actual release date. Their families get the calls a few days before, and then the inmates are getting released within a few days notice? Now, this could just be a rumor so I don't want to get anyone excited -- but does anyone know if there is validity to this? Or, what exactly is going on?

Default Early Release

Yes. My DH called me yesterday that inmates in Safford were getting notices and being released a few months before their scheduled release date. I am unsure if its an overcrowding issue or the SB 1310.

Can’t say yes or no but my man had said something along the lines of him getting out sooner because his senate bill hasn’t kicked in yet? I haven’t been able to talk with him on it yet, so I’m still unsure what bill he’s referring too as I thought he wasn’t eligible for SB 1310

DOC has the internal discretion to release inmates up to 90 days prior to the end of sentence, so maybe that is why.

I have mailed it and he received it.
I donít think he would get in trouble even if they didnít want him to have it. They would just toss it.
