HEY LADIES!
WELL, MY FINACE &' I HAVE BEEN WAITING ON THIS TRANSFER SINCE APRIL &' I JUST CHECKED THE WEBSITE &' HE WAS MOVED TO;
R.M.C - WEST UNIT.
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHERE THAT IS OR WHAT IT STANDS FOR?
HE'S COMING FROM FRANKLIN CI, GOING TO MOORE HAVEN CF, COULD THAT BE WHERE THEY TOOK A QUICK PIT STOP? SINCE HE IS 7 HOURS AWAY...
OMG! I'M SO EXCITED! HOPEFULLY HE DIDN'T GET INTO ANY TROUBLE OR ANYTHING!
THANK YOU FOR ANY RESPONSES!

RMC stands for Reception and Medical Center and the West Unit is just that, the West Unit since they have 3 prisons there: RMC Main, RMC West and RMC Work Camp. Since he's been waiting to move then chances are this is just a stop on the way as reception centers often are and he's moving a pretty good distance so they probably wouldn't do it all in one day.

THANKS BEN'S GIRL!
YEA, I CALLED TALLAHASSEE EARLIER THIS AFTERNOON TO MAKE SURE &' HE'S ON HIS WAY TO MOORE HAVEN!
I JUST CHECKED THE WEBSITE &' HE'S ALREADY AT SFRC.
HOPEFULLY HE'LL BE TO MOORE HAVEN TOMORROW!
DO YOU KNOW IF HE'LL HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE ORIENTATION THING &' ALL OF THAT BEFORE HE CAN CALL HOME?
&' IF SO, HOW LONG DOES THAT USUALLY TAKE?
I'M HOPING I WILL BE ABLE TO SEE HIM THIS WEEKEND, BUT - I'LL PROBABLY HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL NEXT WEEK, ONCE HE'S ALL SETTLED IN.
THANKS AGAIN!

Idk if they'll make him go through orientation. Ben's moved to the same facility 3 times now and twice had to go to the orientation dorm, but I can't remember if he actually went through orientation. He's been in long enough that he doesn't need to be "welcomed to the system" but still had to do this. This last time though he didn't have to do it. I would think you would still get to visit even if he does. And Ben always called while in that dorm, too. Glad to hear he's finally getting his transfer.

THANK YOU; I'M SO HAPPY!
I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HIM EVERY WEEKEND FROM HERE ON OUT!
I THINK IT WILL HELP TO MAKE THE TIME GO BY A LOT FASTER..
NOW, IF ONLY WE COULD GET THIS MARRIAGE THING IN ORDER, WE'LL BE GOOD.
I SPOKE WITH HIM &' HE'S IN REALLY GOOD SPIRITS!
THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE INFO!

If he is in transit, he could be there up to a week depending on when the next bus out to his prison leaves. They makes run to different prisons on different days.

Unless he moved there for medical reasons, he shouldn't be there for very long. Reception centers are often stopping points along the way to the new prison. He did have a transfer request in, correct?

Exclamation Does anyone have an instant connection with loved ones in RMC West???

Just wondering if anyone has instant connection with one of their loved ones, I would really like to know how my friend is doing in there and I haven't got a letter from him yet. So can anyone please help me out and see if your loved one can find out any info on my man??? Thanks! PM me with your email address if you would like to know what my man's name is and what he looks like.

If he's at RMC-West it either means he's headed to a destination in Region 2, or that he'll make another stop at NWFRC-Annex before heading to a destination in Region 1.

Does that still hold true? Because he had said he was going to a camp in Miami.

Yes, this still holds true. DOC can move him anywhere they want, at any time. They can tell him they're moving him to one place, then reassign him to somewhere else. He has no control over where he's going to go.
