Mail the completed questionnaire to the Visiting Sergeant and/or Lieutenant where the prisoner you want to visit is housed. Also here is a link to the visitors Handbook. Hope this helps and hope you get to visit soon

You can mail it to the main address care of "Visiting Office"
3000 West Cecil Avenue
Delano, CA 93216-6000

Or, if you mail it to the inmate, the mail room will pull it out and send it over to visiting.

Edit: Oops! I don't know how I missed the previous post from isis. Sorry, girl! lol I'll just leave this up here as a "Hi all! Miss this forum mucho!"

Silly question... but the adherence to clothing visiting rules for contact visits here are VERY different than they were at the Corcoran SHU.

So, I get the fact that they forbid layering. What about wearing a 1/2 slip on your bottom half? It's a full bottom slip because it's a 50's style dress.

Thanks!

Hey girl-- so by half slip versus full slip, do you mean can you wear one that pulls on up to your waist instead of the full (over the chest) style? Because yes...you can. The only thing to be conscious of is how much light can pass through the skirt part of your dress. Make sure the length of the slip is long enough to help with that. I've seen them turn women away in uber maxi skirts because they could see light at the knee level.

Default Visiting Appt

For some odd reason I have not been able to get ANY appointment scheduled in VPASS for the past month. We just came back to KVSP from a stint @Corcoran, and trying to schedule an appt @Kern has been unsuccessful despite me being logged in every sunday @8 PM :-/ Anyways, I am asking anyone who decides they will no longer need an appt that they have scheduled (in the next few weeks to come) to PM me and let me know if & when u are cancelling! Im open for any date and time... just need to see him asap!

Thanks in advance!!

Thank you SO much!! Yes, the dress is a royal blue charmuse and I just wanted to wear the 1/2 slip to make the skirt a bit fuller, It does not hang out the bottom or show through. Just something different to wear since most everything i have worn at Corcoran (including conservative church clothes) have been refused or denied. After my accident, I have lost even a few more pounds and am really struggling with appropriate clothing that fits.

Also, do you know if individuals with handicapped permits can park in the closer employee lots or do they have to still park in the visitor lot? Have read conflicting stories in their visitors manual and it's going to be hard enough as it is.

Thanks!

Yes, you can park closer. You'll turn into the 'staff parking' lot and there are accessible spots along the side of the building.

They're pretty rigid about clothing here so as much as I hope they let your dress in, do yourself a solid and have the tried and true nuns uniform in the car. Just in case. Are you visiting soon?

Hoping 2 weeks. Last fall I had the nun's uniforms in the car and still had to change 4 times, ugh. I have the Saturday appointment, but hoping I can get a Sunday appointment, because VPASS wouldn't let me schedule one.. It's a pretty conservative dress, but so were the other ones! Yes, very much more than Cororan was, but those visits were behind glass,

My recovering shattered legs will not allow me to walk back and forth from the further parking lot. Hopefully I don't have to go out and change my clothes!

If you can't get through on the phone to get an appointment, confirm with the visiting Sgt. when you check in on Saturday that you are allowed to walk in with the 8am's because of the distance you travel. When I was coming from OR I was told I could. Things change, the Sgt. is different, but she struck me as very fair. Worth a shot!

Thank you for the great info!

I was finally able to get through, no appointments available so I will definitely try your suggestion.

Please disregard, I was able to get an appointment this morning through VPASS. Now I just need to get rid of this cold I have picked up!

If anyone needs/wants an early appointment for April 2nd, please PM me. I will wait 2 days before I cancel it. Of course the local power blew momentarily before I could get an appointment for April 3rd.
