What does your LO ask for while incarcerated to pass the time away?

My gf asked me to send her a Swear Word Coloring Book. She also wanted me to send her something to read.

Any suggestions?

Paper games go over well-- crosswords, word searches, sudoku. I bought a huge bag of old magazines from a thrift shop for $1. Went through and tore out one or two page stories I thought he would find interesting. Stuffed one in with a letter every week. Check with the facility rules about printed out puzzles or torn from magazine pages to ensure they're allowed.

Also, we have a creative mail ideas thread here that has links to some cool resources.

It depends on the person, but I send pictures of things she likes and I try to write up a good description. I send the pictures mostly through jpay, but the ones she really likes I send copies through the mail.

I also send post cards with cool things on them. The post cards and pictures might end up getting shared so always be careful what you write on them. Put her name and number on them. Books and magazines are a good idea. If the magazines some perfume samples all the better.

If she has a tablet you can put money on her books for games and music. I she can get a tablet it's a good thing to get her. It will help eat a lot of time.

Swear word coloring book was popular. Books, magazine subscriptions. A pipe! Native Americans can smoke tobacco. She's asked for yarn and crochet needles. We have to get those approved so we're working on that.

I make word searches and print them out online. We have an ongoing game of battle ship through our letters.
She asks to send books a lot. I got her a magazine subscription. Mostly she just wants me to write often and take pictures a lot.
I also send quotes, bible verses, etc.

MY wife liked to receive books before she was assigned to the library. Magazine subscriptions are a safe bet. Ask which one(s) she prefers before you spend the money.

My husband loves when I put like $10 on his jpay account for new songs for his tablet, he listens to music when he writes me so he can concentrate and drown out sounds around him. I also send him books here and there that I think he will enjoy reading.

Commissary, phone time, the usual, and books about people Shapeshifting into wolves..since the jail library is full can't do that so I just write her wolf stories that are better because my native totem is wolf and it's easy and she loves them..I like to write and she loves to read..

Books! We like to read a lot of the same authors so it's easy for me to know what to send her but she has lots of suggestions of her own. She can't get enough of them. She says reading helps her escape into a different world and lets her forget her situation. I've been keeping Amazon in business. She also loves getting money on Jpay for music.

My wife loves to read. I don't have books sent to her because she's the "head librarian." She has an opportunity to read newly donated books before she puts them on shelves. We write stories for each other. She's much better at it than I am. I print out and send articles and short stories from the 'Net.
