Default Due for release, told Oregon has warrant

My husband was due for release from Hazelton yesterday. They valled him to pack up. Moved him up front then later told him Oregon had a warrant out for him. Does anyone know what will happen next? Will he be put on hold until Oregon marshalls come get him then brought to court? Can i call and see if he actually has a warrant? Any help id greatly appreciate...

You can indeed call to see if there's a warrant, but you need to know the jurisdiction.

The warranting entity will have a time limit to pick him up. If they fail to do so, then he would be free. If they do, then it's on the merry-go-round again.

He knows what his history in Oregon was. Rare is the instance that a warrant from another State comes out of nowhere. He either has conduct that he jumped bond on and is still lurking out there or he was on a supervised status and violated with the conduct in West Virginia.

Even if Oregon does not pick him up, the warrant won't go away and it will be in his best interests to make sure he gets it resolved in a timely manner...any consideration he might get from the Court will be increased by stepping up and doing the right thing instead of allowing it to remain pending if the warrant does not result in him being picked up...

Twice now, my husband has been informed of warrants bearing his name from states he's NEVER been to. First time was in California, correct first name but wrong age and wrong second last name. This last one was for Arizona and issued for a traffic stop while he was incarcerated. He easily proved both times that he was not the right person for each warrant.

We ended up laughing about it. It is strange that this happens, in my opinion, as he has an unusual first name. Both his last names are common.
