Hi, I have no idea if the lockdown will/is effecting the Low. I would call before had, to make sure they are having visits. If your son is able to call you then, more then likely they are not on lockdown. Have a great visit!

I actually found this out a while back - if the medium is on lockdown, it doesn't affect the other facilities. However the low can go on lockdown on its own also. In other words each ne affects it in its own way. Unless its foggy then they delay all visitation. But that hasn't happened for a few weeks. I would just follow Melissa's advice and call the day before you go.

I got a call from hubby today. They have not been on lockdown as I was told. He said there was 1 dorm that was locked down, but the rest of the prison is not.

You can go to www.bop.gov and look up the Low, find their contact info and the number will be on there. You can ask whomever answers the phone. From what Ive heard over the last 5 months the low hasnt been on lockdown.

Hi Everyone. Got to see my son Friday for 6 whole hours. My butt was so sore from sitting on them plastic chairs, but it is worth it. Hope everyone gets to see their loved ones soon.

Celexa, I hope you have a good visit. Just remember what to wear and what not to wear at LOW. They are very very strict. I will try to be on more so I can help out with any questions. Our Grand baby now weighs 3 lbs, with some complications but he is getting the best care.

Does anyone know what is going on in Beaumont Medium? My son is there and last time I heard from him was March 30, 2009. I called yesterday and there's a recording that says visits have been suspended until further notice. My son calls me very frequent so not hearing from him concerns me. Can anyone please let me know if they have anything to share. Thanks

Nope and I put my last $7 on his books today. So he'd better by pass the commissary line for coffee and head straight for the phones!

Awweee Thanks! Glad you had a good visit.
Maybe you ran into Txbutterfly and didnt know it. Its too bad your sister didnt get to visit.
I have a feeling this lockdown will last a couple more weeks, if not a month.

Default Lock down

Has anyone heard what is going on? I got a letter dated 4-11 and he says they are gonna be locked down for awhile. They sent a memo stating all the reasons they were still locked down. He says that there has been at least one fight between cellys everyday since lock down. Please keep this updated as info comes in. Everyone stay strong and pray for your loved ones and all the others.
