Odds are that if you are associated with communities of the First Nations, you know someone who is or was incarcerated due to the historical trauma suffered by the indigenous people of this land from first contact and even now, the inability to cope with our losses ends in incarceration. For many, however, prison is the place where many native women and men find the ways of their ancesters and begin to walk in beauty on the Red Road.

Default chippy chick

Ms Chick,
It's second nature for natives to form a circle around a fellow native who has fallen. We natives, even though some of our traditions and customs are different, tend to band together with different tribes in the urban areas.
Sometimes it's a pain in the butt to pull our brother or sister out of the gutter time and time again but that's just a fact of life for us natives. Tell him you love him as your family no matter what. Either he'll straighten up or he won't. There isn't much else you can do at this point.

Do you know if this written test is a generic test for all Tribes or is there a "Tribe Specific" test for Native's? My brother was just incarcerated in TX and he may need this information soon. Thanks.

My friend Rob is serving a sentence for armed robbery, burglary, and theft of moveable property. He is incarcerated until 2019. He has requested that I find him some pen pals. He is looking for female pen pals. He is a 34 native American male, looking for love outside his environment. He is interested in reading, intellectual conversations, politics, chess, poker, board games, outdoors, sports. His picture is also on my profile. If you are interested in befriending a good guy who made some made choices, Rob is the one. He is very loving, supportive, and forgiving. He really does have a great big heart.
Please mail him a letter.

Default Why I am here

I am Bright Sunshine,

I am here to gain knowledge, share thoughts and resources (if I get any) and engage in useful dialogue regarding my family member who is an inmate of the NEOCC. I hope to be a positive input for someone and gain some resolution with the desparity to my family as a result of unfortunate circumstances.
Thank you for this opportunity.
