Welcome to PTO! I am going to suggest that you search the State and Facility that your loved one is at. In the state forums you will find the different facilities listed and there you will find information for mail, phones, visits etc etc.

If you have any questions let me know! We are here to help

Hi, check the state where he's incarcerated. Many times your state will prepare a directory or guide for friends and family that will help walk you through it. While magazines and books can be allowed, usually they have to be sent from the publisher and they can ban some publications...better to know before you spend the money! You might want to check the forum for your state because they can give some local insights. I'm glad you found this site; i know for me it is a great outlet & source of support! Best wishes!

Default Policies help guide

I also joined PTO for help because my nephew has recently been incarcerated. I have found a lot of information on the Arizona Department of Correction's website, I have to assume every state's correctional department has a similar website.

There is a list of policies and I have found much information in them. The problem I have is that some things I need clarified and cannot get ANYONE to call me back and answer my questions.

My nephew and I have been corresponding and I am impressed with the speediness of delivery, especially since I am 1500 miles away from him. I sent him money through Western Union and he was notified quickly. He now is stocking up on paper, envelopes and stamps, so he is not limited to the number of letters he can write.

Good luck with helping your nephew!
