Default Inhumane conditions Beaumont Med, TX

Don"t know how to go about this. My brother is in Beaumont Med Federal Prison in Texas. Though out the years i made friends people that have familiy in there. Their family members inmates in this facility are fainting due to lack of water. They facility got flooded and the inmates poop in bags, no AC, 8oz per day, one and sometime 2 sandwich a day etc etc. Same stories all from different people in there. They were not evacuated before nor after Harvey. They go through long periods of lockdown. Who do I contact?

That is horrible to hear. Where is decent humane treatment? I would reach out to any advocacy group you can. Here's a couple to get you started.
http://www.texascure.org/goalsandservices.html
http://tifa.org/

You might also reach out to Haley Holik. She is a staff attorney for the Texas Right On Crime advocacy group. Her email is hholik@texaspolicy.com
The website for the group is http://rightoncrime.com/

I would also reach out to the TX Ombudsman office. They are supposed to be the go between for families with loved ones in the system. http://www.tdcj.state.tx.us/division...ombudsman.html

Good luck & I hope things improve fast. This is unacceptable.

If your brother gives permission for you to make waves then one more place to complain is your state legislator. There's someone who needs votes to keep his job and who votes on the TDCJ budget.

Unhappy

Wow, that sounds horrible...

I'm sure the administrators are doing everything they can to bring relief to those prisoners. They're probably scrambling to find somewhere to relocate them as we speak.

What about this storm that is about to hit Florida? Could make Texas look like child's play, the way it is sounding...

"The facility got flooded" is the key point in your post.
I know it's horrible, but the rest of the area also go flooded. You may just have to hang on until the infrastructure is back. It's up to the Federal DOC if the inmates are going to be moved. Floods and Hurricanes are horrible no doubt.

TDCJ and State legislators have zero to do with Beaumont federal facilities.

True, so you should contact your Congressman.

I hope conditions at Beaumont are improved by now?
