So my answer is to send my guy the $40.00 and he can order that way we save the $5.00. Or for that matter you would send the extra $5.00 handling charge and they could get something more. Just Keefe would not get a free $5.00.

The secure packages also help if you have to pay restitution! A percentage of the deposits the inmates make to their accounts is taken and held for restition.
I don't think they can take it from the packages we send =).

Are there any other approved "care package" companies other than Access Securepak? I was hoping to order my bf some toiletries and better food that what Securepak offers.

NOPE, what you see is what you get!!

I would like to send a decent toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash (with out alcohol), even a box of granola bars and beef jerky would be nice!

This is the first time, in a long time, that we could even order any packages, and everything on this list is the same crap that they get from store!!

I just received a letter from my son, who is incarcerated in Yuma - He told me about this website and said that I can order him food packages that will be sent directly to the prison - He said the list of available items is the same as the "store" items that they can order from the inside - The website he gave me was: arizonapackages.com - But when I googled it, it brought me to the Prison Talk website - So, I'm not sure where else to investigate - If you find out, please let me know - Thank you -

Default They have added more items for 2012!

So, I went out to the website to see if they had anything new and they now have some hygiene items like soap, body wash, deordorant, I think one toothpaste...better coffees and a few more "meal" type items on there and a little more variety overall on things...better than the last two months! I had a blast picking stuff and it's a fun surprise!

Thanks for the update!! I, too, enjoyed sending Paulie a package!!

Just a reminder...print up and send your order form to your loved one, as there are a number of guys being shorted....but only because they have THE order, they can argue the point and we can get the refund!!!

Seems like a few items go missing, and without the proof, the money/product just disappears.

Awesome! Hopefully after the first 1/2 of the year they will offer even more options!

I was worried about that too after I saw your earlier post but I don't think we've had any issues so far. Do they not give them the invoice with all of the info? I asked about it and he sent me both of them from November and December. I don't know if they just do that at Yuma though. It makes sense. Also, it asks you if allow subsitutes of a like item is not available. I'm not sure how they would handle things for items that have no real substitute.

Issue is...they get an invoice of what was delivered....but really never know what was ORDERED!! So best to send order to our loved ones...this way, when it is DELIVERED, they can compare to what was ORDERED.

Some of the first rounds of packages sent to a few of the guys were missing a few $$ worth of items. $2 here, $3 here, $5 there...and there is no accounting for it, UNLESS, you print up what YOU ordered and send it to them!!!

Just my opinion....I just don't trust anything about this system...and I refuse to give any company, or organization that deals with the DOC any lee-way PERIOD!!

I hear ya PG! I have seen some crazy things happen over the years so it is better to be safe than sorry even though we haven't had any item go missing so far. I dropped an invoice for this one in the mail yesterday!

Packages, at least here in Ky, are ordered by and paid for by family /friends. The only limits are the amount you can spend in one package and when it can be sent. Oh. And you're limited to what's on the site to be ordered, no "special requests."

This is an old thread, so make sure AZ DOC still uses this vendor.

EDIT: AZ DOC uses securepak and the sender must be on the approved visitation list.

Yep. Only Access Securepak for AZ and approved visitors only. Limit is $80 and the amount they can receive per quarter is dependent upon their phase level.
I’m aware this is an old post, but to clarify, I’d say that if they owe money for any reason then order them the commissary through the site (ie. my ex is currently paying for a lawsuit he filed against Corizon) but if they don’t owe anything then it might be best to send them the money to order it themselves from Commissary.

When you go to securepak it will tell you if they are able to have a securepak ordered. You have to be on the approved vistor list to order. It does depend on phase level as to frequency you are able to order.

FYI... print out the invoice when you have completed the transaction and send to your LO so they can compare what they received and what you have paid for. They don't always get what you have ordered, and I have had issues getting a refund.

When doing your order or setting up your account (I don't recall where exactly) you need to choose Whether to allow substitutes. If they are out of a product then your inmate goes without or they replace it with something. No way to know what that something is, but I figure worse case maybe he can trade. Now I can order monthly but when 1st in it was only quarterly so going without several items was undesirable.

The securepaks have better choices in hygiene products per my LO, and some items he said they can't order.

Since SecrePac works in the DOC, it will let you know if you're not allowed to send one at the time. (Since lower phases are allowed less per quarter) If there are items they aren't allowed to have, based on the far they're in, those items won't show. So anything you see, your LO will be allowed to have.

My suggestion for lower phases is always get as close to maxing the $80 as you can.
