Default New Phone company at CT DOC..

I received a call from my boyfirend last night from Osborn he told me that GTL was not going to be the provider for inmate calls. It is now Securus Technologies. http://www.securustech.net

I spoke with Brian Garnett and he said the contract was up and they GTL lost the bid. All new phones were put in too.

So we now have to change accounts, there is also a fee added on now too.

Default Securus phone system

It is supposed to start monday June 11. At least that is what is going on at Osborn. It is very simple to set up but alot of fees. I didn't have to send in any bills. Just not sure if the calls will 15 minutes or less. I hope the calls are clearer and less problems.

I set up the account on line and it is cheaper per call...there is a sample thing to plug in what facility u get a call for...but 6.95 to add calls....uhhh bs

Just tried to setup my account but wanted to wait until today to put any money on the account since it's supposed to go into effect today.

Last night when I set up the AdvancePay account, my status read "clear" but today I just went on to add money and it says my account is "Blocked." Currently on hold waiting to see what the issue is...

Anyone else experience this issue with them? Anyone able to set up their account? And has anyone gotten any calls yet today?

i didnt get a call and i called the jail and they said they are having phone problems....does anythng ever get done smoothly ? my account says clear though on it....

My calls have been coming in ok. They have actually been free calls the past 2 days. They get 10 free 5 minute calls for so many days. Hope you all get the issues figured out!

Tomorrow i think. It is supposed to be for the first 3 days and since the phones switched Tuesday instead of Monday it should be tomorrow! I will let you know if they are still free when he calls me in the am!

I was so tight that my honey got way too excited with the 10 free calls and kept calling me when he knew I couldn't answer (i.e. work) and therefore we lost about half of them both days. It would have been nice to talk for an hour for free!

The new company has its pros and cons. My account was blocked because I needed to put money on it. But it's been really easy. I like the online system and how I can visually keep track of all the calls. However, I'm not too happy over the massive rate increase. Calls went from $1.50 to $3.89... BUT I am NOT going to complain because our calls used to be over $17 for 15 minutes, so I will take the $3.89 and be happy.

Does anyone know if our guys can apply money to the phone accounts now?

I did not know that our guys could ever apply money to the phone accounts? could they with global tel lin....my calls are two dollars cheaper with this company...is ur man in ct and u in nj?

Default Phone Issues

Hi everyone,

Has anyone been experiencing serious issues ever since we got this new phone company? For the last two weeks, my phone will either go straight to voicemail and not ring at all... or the SECOND i try to answer it the call hangs up.

It's extremely frustrating... we experienced this problem at first when the phone companies switched. Then things were fine. But now it's horrendous! Then I get frustrated because I don't know if when i answer the call and it says "The caller has hung up" if it's because he hung up or the phone company disconnected us.

Sometimes he would give me a "love tap" where he calls just so i can hear his name and then he hangs up... his way of saying I miss you and i'm thinking of you.. But with all of our phone issues lately I don't think that's what he's doing. I think the phone company is disconnected our calls.

Anyone else have feedback? Should I call SecurusTech?

Call securustech. I've had to call them with questions and concerns and they're super helpful. Also, what prison are the calls coming from? I've had that disconnection problem happen only once to me and it was because my boyfriend used his limit of calls for the day already, but this doesn't sound like what you're talking about.
