18 years for non violent computer crime. Where will he be placed in La?
my son is in Hunt, waiting to be placed, 18 years for non violent computer crime,he was active military at time of arrest, and has 13 years of emergency medical experiance,no drug or alcohol ,no police record,we spent $45000 for lawyers he did not have a trial, and was cleared of any wrong doing by military investigation, but the local DA later filed charges, only in Louisana I guess this can be done.
I'm not from Louisiana and can't answer your question, but I do want to welcome you to PTO. Stay strong & take care of yourself...its going to be a long journey

Reason: sp
It's going to depend almost entirely on what his "non violent computer crime" was. If it was a sex offense then that will play into where he's placed. His lengthy sentence will also play into it. Unfortunately you generally won't know where someone is going until they go through reception.
Right now they are going to place him wherever they have room for him. That could mean he could even be moved to a parish jail that houses inmates for the state. At this point, it's really a crap shoot.

No Helga, it's not only in Louisiana that it happens. It happened to my son in GA. The feds decided there was no evidence to support going after him but turned it over to the locals who did prosecute him.
