There are levels for violations 100, 200, 300; from not standing for count to assault. The 100 series is the highest level violation. It could be an assault or it could be refusing to take a mandatory UA. Here is the link for VV. It starts on page 51. https://www.bop.gov/locations/instit...aohandbook.pdf

Thank you for your reply....It seems to me that there is a huge gap between assault and failure to take a UA....and all the things in between... would that be called a shot? This is all new to me....

Yes, itís a long list. Most of the more serious offenses are on there, but I wanted to make sure you knew it could be the UA as well. Yes, itís a shot.

With 100 series shots, the punishments will be determined by the district hearing officer (DHO) after an in-person hearing. The DHO works for the prison, so don't expect anything other than guilty/punishment. Hope for a good outcome, but don't count on it.

Once they go in front of the DHO and receive their punishment if they donít agree they can file an appeal but even with that itís no guarantee it will come back in your LOís favor. Just went through this same type of situation with my Boyfriend

No, lawyers are not permitted to get involved with a bop internal conduct hearing, or any appeals.
