Yes, I agree PTO is definitely the place to be if you have a loved one incarcerated and are looking for support, education and knowledge and meeting people who are non judgemental and who are willing to help you no matter what brought you here.

I was very fortunate in finding PTO as I was in need of surrounding myself with people who had a common bond of having a loved one incarcerated.

Samanthalee and I have become very close since my accident days and in fact I just got back from visiting her where we both attended the conference to Abolish The Death Penalty.

I have made alot of close friends here and am very grateful for the opportunity to do so.

I have recovered fully from my accident with the exception of financially. I lost so much with the accident, but it was a very valuable lesson at the same time.

Even tho alot of us are inflamed over the Judicical System, we all are very strong in that we are having to deal with adversity of having loved ones incarcerated.

I only have one local friend who knows about my involvement with a incarcerated person and I just told her this year. I am still not sure if it was a good idea or not.

However, thanks to PTO, I have several email friends who have stood by me, as I have them and have shared all of the hopes and sorrows we all have. It is truely a wonderful feeling to know that there is someone out there who cares about you and what you are going through.

So now as I approach the one yr anniversary of my car accident I know I have come a long way and I am grateful to everyone for their kind words, their offer of support and encouragement and ten cheers to Samanthalee, katmat1995, rainydayw, kim48, reggies girl, for pulling me through.

Remember Hope is a good thing, it springs life eternal.

What a inspiring story. Although I have only been a membeer for a small time, I have found that PTO is the place to find support, info, and just someone to talk to and help you get through the tough times.
Glad you are okay and was able to have a friend to get you through the accident and to inform your husband.

PTO ROCKS

You know you are sooooo right. When I first became a new member and new to the whole prison thing period, I was very worried about my love because I hadn't heard from him and they were put on lockdown. One of the members here (WhiskeyLullabye) called the prison for me to check on him because I couldn't (I was at work) and I didn't really know who to speak to. It turned out he was fine but that was just so nice of her to help me. Thanks Whiskey!! and I have also met another member whos man is locked up at the same institution as mine and she has become one of my best friends. So yes I would agree that my PTO membership works for me in great ways and I hope to help others out as they have helped me.

When i first joined PTO i posted my story about me and my family and what we're going through and i got a PM from a lady with a son in prison. She said her story really touched her and wanted to help. We were really struggling with money and couldn't afford to drive the 4 hours to see Lee. She decided to send $100.00 to help fund the trip. Asked nothing in return..except not to tell her name. But it was the most awesome feeling to have this TOTAL stranger want to help me out!

When this world tries to drag you down, and you begin thinking of your loved one,not being able to see them,it is a privilege to sit down and type in this address and be able to know there are others here to lift you out of your dark place. This David had a brilliant idea to put this site on the map.

Who is David and where can I go to find out more about the sitemasters and if they need donations? I know I'm off topic, but Rick, I agree so much that it's nice to be able to come here everyday and vent and laugh and support and share with others in a similar situation.

You will in time and you will see how your friendship keeps growing and the many friends you will make while you are here.

Nothing like it for sure and we all have a common bond and that makes it even more special.

I hope your accident was minor (if there really is such a thing) and you are recovering well.

I know for me PTO has been a lifesaver. Especially my fellow wifey's. I have found the strength and compassion and understanding of only those that go through it. The friendships made out of hard times are often the ones that bring us the most. Thank you PTO.

Hello, I'm new to Prison talk. I found it looking online for some kind of support. I think I found the right place. I have no support through friends and family. I really need someone to talk to that understands what I feel.
