Hi Derek,

I believe there are a couple of guys who post every so often who served at Morgantown. I can only answer questions/give perspective as a visitor. My son is finishing up his 48-month sentence--six months to go. All in all, just like anywhere else, it's what you make of it, but I gather it's one of the "nicer" places to be. No fences. COs are okay. Food is tolerable. Lots of activities. Lots of things to keep you busy. Lots of sports and classes. Support for all faiths. Little--if any--violence or trouble. Nice visitation area--in the warm weather you can sit outside to visit. Kids' toy room so your daughter will have something to keep her busy if/when she visits. Email is a blessing and it's what keeps us connected--my son and I email a couple of times a day. Feel free to ask specific questions. Good luck!

Default Morgantown

Hi, I spent 15 months at morgantown from Jan 2009-April-2010. I can answer any questions you may have, its really not a bad place at all. In fact we always referred to it as "adult day care". Hit me up at joshmiles424@msn.com and ask away.

I live right up the street from this facility and wondered have you self
surrendered yet? I'm praying for you & your family to have strength & peace
during your difficult journey.

Good luck. You'll be fine and the time will go by quickly after you settle in. I hope your family is able to visit often. Be sure and check in with us when you are out.

Hello Jadtem!

My husband has about 36 months left. This is very difficult on families. I hope you are close enough to visit frequently, as it really does make a difference! My husband is fairly new to Morgantown himself, as he transferred just a couple of months ago to be closer to home. Best wishes to you and your fiancé.

Thank you and yes it is 3 hours but I will visit each time I am allowed. He is nervous, scared, it's a first offense.
I'm sure everyone is their first time. Thank you for that- it really helps having people who are going through the same thing.

My husband was also extremely nervous and scared, as it was his first offense as well. It is a safe place and once he gets his routine down, your fiancé will be fine. The boredom seems to be the worst, along with the food! Take care!
