Housing in Philadelphia

I was released to a halfway house in Harrisburg with the promise of transferring to one in Philadelphia, where I am from, have a low-level SO. But, now they won't sign off on my transfer and I have to find a home plan there, from here, on my own. I can't track down any group or person or agency or anyone with contacts for landlords to get hold of who would rent me a room or an apt. I have plenty of education, professional, have some money to give...if only I can find one. So far, craigslist is mostly been a bust. And it is expensive and a big hassle to visit places from here and then ask them to wait 3 weeks while it is approved. I am running out of time here, need to find a place in Philly, relatively safe/close to Center City..room, apartment, whatever. Anyone know who I can contact that might have some leads to go after? How can I better search for places that wont lead to so many dead ends? I would appreciate any contacts, community groups, landlords, or people who could lead me to them. Please help.. trapped here!
