Welcome to PTO! G2G are get togethers where people from this site get together and talk, meet, have dinner, or a picnic. My guy told me that I sould call this man also. I haven't yet because I wanted to see what or if anyone has ever worked with him. You do have to be careful I can tell you that, there are some people out there who will just take your money.

I spoke to Attorney Walker's secretary late today to get directions. She told me that Mr. Walker and his partner have been doing parole hearings for about 40 years. I feel that he is going to work hard for us. I will let you know how my meeting goes.

Default Attorney Hal Walker

Some of you knew that I was meeting with him today. He seemed like a fine man. He was really truthful with me when he spoke about my Boos chances of getting out early. He gave me a news letter that he has done that give a bunch of info on paroles. He told me if I need anymore or had any questions I could email him at ** Per Pto Policy**. He seems straight so I hired him. I will try to post his news letter. I am going to get him to email me the news letter and maybe then I can post it here.

I just heard from Mr. Walker and he told me that the special review committee had voted to give Jerome an earlier date later this year. We were originally set for April 2012. He told me that they were trying to get some of the non-violent offenders out. He also told me that out all of the parole hearings that he had last week that about 70 % got out.

The OP hasn't posted anything since May but she did say he had a parole hearing in June. You might want to try sending her a PM.

Here is a copy of the PDF File

I know that it is hard to believe
but the Alabama Board of Pardons
and Paroles continues to
work diligently toward handling
as many cases as possible. According
to the Annual Report the
Board considered 7,924 inmates
for parole in 2009. Of that
7,924 , approximately 4,644
(57%) were denied parole and
3,280 (43%) were granted parole.
Statistically, most inmates that are
denied parole do not have an
attorney speak on their behalf
while a large number of those
paroled did retain counsel.
In addition, last year there were
699 parole revocations, 385 inmates
were revoked for technical
violations and 314 were revoked
for new offenses.
As for pardons, only 617 were
considered with 511 or nearly
83% being granted and 106 or
17% being denied.
As of May 2009 there were approximately
30,896 inmates
housed in the 29 correctional
facilities operated by the Alabama
Department of Corrections. Of
that 28,560 were men and 2,336
were women. The Alabama Department
of Corrections states
that is costs nearly $ 41.71 per
day to house and care for each
inmate.
2009 Statistics for Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles
I want to get out early! What can I do?
The answer to this question is not
a simple one. Whether an inmate
gets out early is based upon several
factors. The first thing is
length of sentence. Second is
how they act while at DOC. Are
they doing programs or they getting
disciplinary write-ups? We
always encourage our clients to
take as many programs as possible.
It is a good thing to hand the
parole board a stack of certificates
at the hearing. Next, we of
course, encourage the inmate to
stay disciplinary free. We know
that this not always possible sometimes
but we certainly want them
to stay clean. Next, we encourage
them to join a faith-based program
when possible. Faith-based
dorms are available within the
DOC system. An attorney can
help with getting an earlier date (a
cut) or representation at a parole
hearing. In most cases it is a wise
investment to hire an attorney to
help. Hiring an attorney that is
familiar with the system and its
components can definitely assist
you in your efforts to gain your
freedom. Consider hiring an attorney
to help with your parole or
parole cut an investment. If they
are able to save you 3-5 years isn't
your money well spent. Make sure
to ask lots of questions.

ALABAMA PARDONS

AND PAROLES
Special points of

interest:
•

We have been representing

inmates for

over 30 years.
•

Many perspective

clients call AFTER

being turned down for
parole.
•

Everyone needs an

advocate to speak for

them.
•

The Parole Board is

appointed.

•

Get to the hearing

early, about 5:30 am.

You want to see the
Board early in the day.
•

There are very few

parking spaces.

•

We have helped hundreds

of inmates go

home.

The rules of the Alabama State Bar require the following on attorney advertising: "No representation
is made that the quality of the legal services to be performed is greater than the legal services performed
by other lawyers."
When looking at these statistics it
would appear that the Board
needs to work to get more inmates
released. You will hire an
attorney for your divorce or car
wreck, why not to help you or
your loved one get out of prison?
Hiring an attorney could be your

best move in a long time.
