Default He has to report to Elkton on Tues

It's really going to happen. I am just numb. My son is to report to probation on Monday at noon then we can head down to Elkton. I have a hotel room booked near the prison for Monday night. He has his last visit with his toddler son tomorrow.

I was numb for a long time. We go through a whole grieving process.

There is a group here of parents with children in prison (PCIP). Check it out; you will find a lot of good advice and people who understand. It helped me keep my sanity when my son was arrested over 6 years ago.

Tuesday will be difficult for both of you. Once he gets established there, and you guys have set up a schedule of contacts (phone, email, visits), it will become more normal.

There is nothing easy about seeing your child go to prison. It will become easier and it will be manageable.
Wishing you both positive thoughts.
