Default What kind of new evidence would be helpful to get a new trial?

Hat kind of new evidence would be helpful to get a new trial, or get one reversed. That is, short of the victim confessing that she lied? If a man is convicted of rape, and I find evidence she's been prostituting, for instance, is that enough? What if she's not getting "paid" but just going to college sex parties? Is that enough?

I'm sorry, Spiffy, but I just don't believe that is going to be enough. The law protects prostitutes also. They DO have a right to say "no" to sex that they don't want. This was told to me by a PO.

It's my understanding that even if the so called victim recants, it's still a long process to undo. I pray for it everyday, believe me! Would love to hear from anyone that had actually had a recantation.
If someone had told me four years ago that we could be where we are today just because she said it, I would have said they were crazy.

Yes, I'm afraid these ladies are both right. Mu man served time based on simply what someone said. It sure is living a nightmare when someone you love is sitting in jail when you know they don't deserve to be there. Ill keep you and your son in my prayers. I do believe in modern day miracles.
