Can I send my husband a package while he's in reception in Waco? Hygiene and stuff like that.

No. while in reception they can only receive books, magazines, letters. You can put money on his books so that he can buy personal items.

How do you send money? I was told jpay but for some reason my mans account has a transfer block on it and I can't send him money through there. How do you send the money order/gram? where do you address it do I write his name on it? Im so confused. Please help someone. Its been almost one month that he doesn't have money to buy hygiene products nd such I feel bad, but Im also kind of mad that his account is blocked as some people say its because he received money from more than one person on jpay at a time

Hello!

Is there a way for me to find out an inmate's balance? I think I remember hearing somewhere that this information is not available online, but I am unsure if that's something I can find out by simply calling a specific department?

Thank you for all your help!

You can send metered and/or plain envelopes with stamps separate. I sent two large white envelopes, each containing 10 stamps, 10 #10 envelopes, 80 sheet note book with the cardboard taken off the back. He received them both. I sent the extras because I know they can 'help' others and get 'help' in return, which makes the time between canteen visits a lot easier to handle. .....Or if they are anything like my guy, it gives 'em hussle power! LOL

My husband got to Wasco on 5/29. The money he had on his property at county hasn't been transferred yet so I sent him some money today. He said people have been telling him that they don't start taking a % out for restitution until AFTER you see a counselor. However he has been given mis-information about other things so we are not entirely sure if this is true. Does anyone know? Thank you!

Does anyone know how long it takes for the money sent through JPay to process? I sent money yesterday at 3:00 PM and it still says it's "pending." Thank you!

For anyone wondering, my husband confirmed that they didn't hit him with 55% restituion on the money that transferred over from his county books, or the money I sent him through Jpay prior to seeing his counselor. I am not sure what the actual criteria is for them to not take the money; seems like some get hit with it right away and some don't.

I don't think there is any criteria, it's just the luck of the draw.

Yes, that's what it seems to be. I just got a letter from my guy yesterday letting me know he was able to use the money I sent him November 1st, towards his store. He got the full amount. I was almost positive half was going to go towards his restitution, but it didn't. I sent it through JPay. The money his mother sent as a money order, is still on hold, and she sent it weeks before I did. He was so thankful because he's only able to put his order in once a month. Made me feel good that I was able to help.
